We stayed at Ferndale Lodge for a few nights and it was perfect for our dog. The dog-friendly rooms have a separate entrance and minimal outside traffic, keeping our furry friend calm. The owner was friendly and informative, giving us valuable tips on making restaurant reservations in advance. The location was ideal, just a short walk to restaurants, pubs, and the beautiful countryside walking routes. Plus, the rooms were peaceful and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.

Lovely staff, short walk to bars and restaurants. Amazing views. Provided hand wash, body wash, and clean towels. Dog-friendly room at the back. Only hotel I would visit again.

This hotel is excellent value for money, with prices that won’t break the bank. The attention to detail is spot on, from the clean rooms to the well-maintained facilities. The location is perfect, right in the center of Ambleside on the main road, making it convenient to explore the Lake District. Plus, it's just around the corner from the bus stop, making it easy to get around.

I had a fantastic stay at Ferndale Lodge. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and at home. The location was perfect, allowing me to explore the beautiful area without needing to use my car. The room I stayed in may have been small, but it had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. The shower was surprisingly powerful, giving me a refreshing start to each day. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing, providing a generous and delicious spread to fuel my adventures. Despite a few minor hiccups, such as the damp patches on the walls and the tight parking situation, overall I would highly recommend Ferndale Lodge as a great place to stay.

Quirky and cosy accommodation with friendly hosts and great breakfasts. the rooms were clean and comfortable, with lovely views of the hills and church. the location couldn't be better, just a short walk from the town centre and close to both walks and nightlife.

The rooms and ensuite bathrooms were quite small, better suited for shorter guests. It would have been nice to have a communal lounge area to relax in, especially since the bedrooms were on the smaller side.
