The dinner was superb, cooked to perfection, and of great quality. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was idyllic, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The bar area was attractively designed. Dogs were well taken care of, with bowls and treats provided, and the option to dine with them.

A fabulous stay

I recently had a fabulous stay at a charming hotel in the countryside. The hotel rooms were magnificent, especially the four-poster bed which was incredibly comfortable. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, always friendly and helpful. One evening, my husband mentioned his disappointment that a particular dish wasn't available, and to our delight, the staff arranged to have it prepared just for us the following night. The hotel really went above and beyond to make our stay special. The only drawback was the limited breakfast options, particularly the lack of a vegetarian full English option. However, overall I highly recommend this hotel for its delightful atmosphere, excellent service, and comfortable accommodations.

We had a delightful Sunday lunch at this lovely hotel/restaurant near the train station. The food was superb and the service was excellent. The empty restaurant allowed us to enjoy a peaceful and relaxed meal. We will definitely go back and highly recommend it. I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel restaurant serves fantastic food, including one of the best steaks we've had and an exquisite guinea fowl dish. The rustic furniture and four-poster beds in the superior rooms add to the charming atmosphere. The location, in a village in the middle of nowhere, is perfect for escaping city life. The hotel is conveniently just a 6-minute walk from the train station. The fireside lounge and afternoon tea experience were delightful. The beautiful walking path with treehouse spotting and riverside benches was a highlight. From March onwards, guests can enjoy activities such as fishing, horse riding, and shooting. The friendly and welcoming staff, especially the two helpful male staff members, made our stay pleasant and ensured any issues were resolved.

We felt incredibly welcomed at the hotel and had nothing to complain about.

I loved that they were dog friendly and even provided a doggy bag for my furry friend. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was hearty. The hotel was surprisingly clean and well-maintained for the affordable price. The staff were excellent, especially the restaurant staff who were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful countryside and the grounds were lovely.

The restaurant staff knew the menu well and provided attentive service without being intrusive. The food was superb, with a great breakfast buffet and a delicious tasting menu for dinner. We also enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the fact that the hotel is dog-friendly.

Although the room was clean and comfortable, the lighting was quite dim and there were a few minor issues with the bathroom. The tea tasted a bit limey and the flush system in the ensuite bathroom was not very efficient.

They even upgraded our room when they found out we had two dogs. the room and en-suite bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options.

We got great value for our money at Fox & Hounds Country. The room, although small, was comfortable and very clean. The hotel's location was perfect for a peaceful escape and the staff treated us absolutely fabulously.
