Our stay at Gentian House Bed & Breakfast was absolutely lovely! Mary, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming, ensuring that all our needs were met. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with little touches like a selection of biscuits and a fresh bottle of tap water. The shower had great water pressure and the bed was super comfy. The location was perfect for visiting High Force Waterfall, just a 10-minute drive away. In the morning, Mary cooked us a delicious full English breakfast with sausages and bacon from the local butchers. our stay was superb and we will definitely be going back!

We loved the warm and cosy feel of the place, perfect for young holiday goers. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection and the TVs had great reception with a good size. The whole place was clean and fresh.

The Easter stay at this hotel was fantastic! The room was beautifully clean with a lovely hot shower and all the amenities I needed, like a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great selection including fresh fruit, cereal, and a freshly cooked meal. The location was perfect, being centrally located for local shops, pubs, and also as a starting point for some amazing walks in the beautiful countryside. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

There were a few minor drawbacks during the stay. The bed was a bit on the hard side for my liking, although my spouse didn't mind it.

Absolutely loved the beautiful upland walking, the rare and colorful haymeadow flowers, and the charming ruins of the small monastery. So thrilling!

Oh, I just adored everything about it. No complaints whatsoever.
