The location here was incredible! It's smack in the middle of everything - local shops, great pubs, and amazing walks in the countryside. the staff was so welcoming; our room was amazing, with all the extras we needed. Breakfasts were top-notch, including fresh fruit and yogurt; one of the best we've had at a B&B. the experience here was absolutely fabulous; we'd definitely come back, highly recommended.

Parking could be a bit tricky. We initially parked on a main road, not too far from the hotel.

Would love a more visible sign at the entrance for us seniors.

Mary, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming, ensuring that all our needs were met. the room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with little touches like a selection of biscuits and a fresh bottle of tap water. the shower had great water pressure and the bed was super comfy. the location was perfect for visiting High Force Waterfall, just a 10-minute drive away. In the morning, Mary cooked us a delicious full English breakfast with sausages and bacon from the local butchers.

The accommodation at Gentian House was excellent, with a lovely room and all the extras we needed. The host was very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location was also great, with easy access to local shops and pubs, as well as beautiful countryside for walks.

Just came back from an amazing stay near High and Low Force Falls. the breakfast was outstanding with local produce. Fresh. Would go back FOR SURE! Staff photos don't do justice! .

We loved the warm and cosy feel of the place, perfect for young holiday goers. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection and the TVs had great reception with a good size. The whole place was clean and fresh.

The Easter stay at this hotel was fantastic! The room was beautifully clean with a lovely hot shower and all the amenities I needed, like a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great selection including fresh fruit, cereal, and a freshly cooked meal. The location was perfect, being centrally located for local shops, pubs, and also as a starting point for some amazing walks in the beautiful countryside. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

There were a few minor drawbacks during the stay. The bed was a bit on the hard side for my liking, although my spouse didn't mind it.

Absolutely loved the beautiful upland walking, the rare and colorful haymeadow flowers, and the charming ruins of the small monastery. So thrilling!

Oh, I just adored everything about it. No complaints whatsoever.
