Our weekend stay was fantastic! the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, ensuring that we had everything we needed. the room was immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed and a spotless bathroom. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, with a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, and coffee. the table was nicely set with proper serviettes, adding a touch of elegance. the off-road parking in front of the property was convenient, and despite being near a busy road, we were not disturbed at all thanks to the double glazing. Plus, we loved that the hotel was pet friendly and had a beautiful red carpet on the stairs and landing.

The only downside was that being an old property, there were some creaking floorboards and noise from flushing toilets, which could be a bit distracting. Additionally, the shower was a bit cramped, but for a short stay, it was not a major issue.

During my Christmas stay, I appreciated the warm welcome I received from the proprietor who was very friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and comfortable, with two very useful amenities to have, including a room heater and double glazing, ensuring a cozy and restful night’s sleep. the location of the property was ideal for exploring the surrounding area with beautiful rivers, trails, and parks just a few minutes' walk away, it was a perfect winter getaway.

While the hotel was overall a great experience, I would have liked a bit more variety for breakfast, instead of sticking just to the continental selection. the visibility while pulling off the drive onto the main road could be improved as it was challenging to see oncoming traffic, especially in the winter.

We also loved the delicious continental breakfast options. Despite being on the main road, the double-glazed windows kept the noise out. Plus, it was a bonus to find a genuinely dog-friendly accommodation. The nearby pub, The Royal Oak, was a great find too.

If I had to be picky, the twin beds were quite narrow, and my tall husband wished for a larger ensuite. However, these minor inconveniences didn't overshadow the overall positive experience.
