I booked a last-minute stay at Hardwicke Hall Manor and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely room, particularly the comfortable bed. Despite a wedding taking place during my stay, the hotel made sure non-wedding guests had separate spaces in the bar and dining room. the bar itself had a cozy atmosphere, and I enjoyed a tasty dinner with a reasonably priced wine. Throughout my time there, the staff were attentive and friendly, providing excellent service.

Christmas at this hotel was a wonderful experience. the hotel location was perfect, providing a beautiful view of the sea beyond the surrounding industrial area. the staff was friendly and always willing to help. the highlight of our stay was the delicious food that was offered. We had access to an excellent variety of dishes and all of them were well-prepared and absolutely tasty.

The room which was dated and needed an upgrade. Although it was clean, there was a mild musty smell that could have been caused by the lack of fresh air in the room.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Hardwicke Manor. From the moment we stepped over the threshold, we felt the history of the place. The building, dating back to 920, had a charming and historical atmosphere. The grounds were very attractive, providing a beautiful view from our room. The bar was cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a pre-dinner drink. The dining room was lovely, with white linen tablecloths and napkins, creating an elegant dining experience. The food was excellent, starting with a delicious bubble and squeak with a poached egg on top. The four-course meal was satisfying and well-prepared. We had a restful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning. The staff looked after us very well, ensuring we felt at home during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

The shower was difficult to use and the water went cold halfway through. the decor throughout the hotel was dated and tired.

This hidden gem in the north exceeded my expectations.

The hotel's location was ideal for our purposes as we wanted to explore the coast and visit Newcastle, Hartlepool, and Durham. The beautiful grounds and the outdoor bar were a great addition, allowing us to enjoy the warm sunshine while sipping on our drinks. The service from the staff was exceptional, and the rooms, especially the Classic Chapel room, were clean and spacious with all the basic amenities we needed. The breakfast provided was excellent, although a barking dog parked outside the hotel slightly spoiled the atmosphere.
