We had a fabulous family holiday at this old but homely hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the food excellent. Our room had a garden and sea view, which was exceptional. The location was perfect, with Knoll Beach just a 5-minute walk away. We loved that dogs were allowed and we will definitely be returning with ours. Can recommend this hotel.

A Quirky and Memorable Stay

We woke up to a sudden downpour of rain, and to our surprise, water was showering through the bathroom due to a leak in the roof window. While a little concerning, the staff seemed unfazed by my comment in the morning. However, the unique charm and atmosphere of the place made up for this small inconvenience. The hotel furnishings had a fascinating vintage feel, transporting us back to the 70s and 80s. The dining room, although resembling a mass cafeteria, served ample portions of good quality food. The breakfast options could have been a bit healthier, but the size and taste of the meal made up for it. The property is due for a refurb, but its outdated decor only added to its charm. We were even entertained by live music from the restaurant below, which added to the overall atmosphere. The only minor quibble was the extra charge for the smoked salmon at breakfast, but it seemed to balance out when considering the variety of choices. Despite these small drawbacks, we would definitely come back to this affordable and amazing location. I highly recommend this hotel for a quirky and memorable stay.

As a light sleeper, I really appreciated the quiet garden suite away from the road. The large premises provided lots of space and the location was perfect for walks. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Despite the negative experiences, the hotel's location was ideal for my purposes during my city trip. It was conveniently situated in close proximity to where I needed to be the following day. the room was warm and cozy, providing comfort on a chilly night.

The service left a lot to be desired, with the bar staff being particularly rude and dismissive towards customers. It was clear that they had no interest in providing a pleasant experience, as they talked down to people and completely ignored others.

The facilities, including the pool, hot tub, and indoor jacuzzi, were well-maintained and provided a relaxing experience. We also had the chance to try the onsite therapy by Charlotte, which was excellent. The friendly and polite staff always greeted us with a smile, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Although the decor was a bit dated, the quirky atmosphere with dogs roaming around and children playing added to the fun feeling of the place. With some subtle decorative changes, the hotel could become even better. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for its unbeatable location and enjoyable atmosphere.
