Recently stayed at Macdonald Holyrood in Edinburgh for a weekend getaway. From check-in to check-out, everything was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to assist with taxi arrangements and provide extra amenities like ice and a fan. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a great shower and toiletries. The hotel facilities, including the swimming pool, sauna, and steam room, were well-maintained. The food, both for dinner and breakfast, was delicious. a fantastic experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. The location is perfect, nestled in the old part of town, it was quiet and peaceful yet within walking distance of all the main attractions. The staff were exceptional, providing excellent service from check-in to check-out. We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff in the restaurant and the reception manager even knew our names.

There was a minor issue with the lighting in our room, but it did not detract from the overall experience. We would highly recommend this hotel to families seeking a luxurious and comfortable stay in a convenient location.

We had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering us an early check-in and allowing us to use the swimming pool and steam room before we set off to explore the area. Our room was cozy and warm, with a comfortable bed and a well-equipped bathroom stocked with toiletries. We were delighted to find a tea and coffee station in the room, as well as a hairdryer and iron. The location of this hotel was perfect, nestled in a quiet part of town but still within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. We also appreciated the top-notch services provided, such as room service, dry cleaning, and 24-hour assistance from the friendly reception and concierge staff.

The hotel is conveniently located near the parliament and in the center of the old town. It is surrounded by busy areas with plenty of restaurants close by, making it easy to find dining options. The Royal Mile area, which is beautiful to walk around, is also within walking distance.

Some guests reported issues with cleanliness, including stains and scuff marks on the walls, as well as dust and human hair in the bathroom.

The staff, including the manager I dealt with and the concierge Frank, were excellent. The front of house staff at the reception, restaurant, and bar were all fantastic. The location of the hotel was also very good. Beds were comfortable and the entrance and restaurant were nice. The hotel had a good gym and swimming facilities. As a budget traveler, I appreciated the friendly staff and the clean and comfortable accommodation, making it one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Great location near the Royal Mile and Arthur's Seat. Efficient staff who handled a fire alarm situation calmly and reassuringly. Good facilities including on-site parking, gym, steam room, and sauna. Comfortable bed with proper pillows. Delicious breakfast with nicely cooked eggs and tasty black pudding. Quiet and comfortable room with a partial view of the Parliament Building. Well-planned bathroom with a well-fitted bath/shower.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel! The room was beautiful and spacious, with modern amenities and a comfortable bed. The blackout curtains were a great touch, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we checked in. The hotel also provided a lovely surprise for my birthday, with macarons and a birthday message in the room. The views of Arthur's Seat were stunning, and it was nice to be slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main stretch. The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, making it easy to explore the city. we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

Located fairly close to the city centre and excellent landmarks such as the Royal Mile, this hotel was an ideal spot for our group of friends. The spacious rooms had cozy beds with fresh towels and toiletries. Delicious breakfast was served, and the staff was attentive and courteous. The relaxing spa facilities were a great advantage, loved by everyone.

One aspect we didn't appreciate was the hotel's unacceptable behaviour when questioned about the bar opening times - it made our stay slightly uncomfortable.

On arrival, there was a delay in getting my room ready, which disrupted my plans. the housekeeping could be improved as the room wasn't serviced on two days.

The room we stayed in was spacious and had a comfortable bed. the location of the hotel was great, with easy access to key attractions and shops.

The overall condition of the room was not up to par. the decor looked dated and there were chips in the plaster on the walls.

the stay at holyrood was absolutely delightful. the clean and spacious room with thick curtains was perfect for a relaxing stay. the staff went above and beyond by leaving chocolates and a birthday card for my partner. the location was great, with beautiful views of calton hill and easy access to arthur's seat.

Traveling to Edinburgh for a few days, I stayed at this lovely hotel near Holyrood House. The location was excellent for driving to the hotel and exploring the city. The helpful staff made my stay enjoyable, always providing service with a smile. The room, particularly number 1, was comfortable and well-maintained. I loved the traditional decor and the quiet atmosphere. Additionally, the delicious breakfast, with its first-class options and the option to order poached eggs, was a great way to start the day. a memorable stay in a convenient and charming hotel.
