The hotel's location was fantastic, right next to the train station in the centre of this beautiful coastal town. Being able to wake up in the morning and see the Jacobite rail station right outside my window, with the sea in the background and seagulls soaring overhead, was an incredible experience. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to a variety of restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and cafes made it extremely convenient for exploring the local food scene.

loved the location next to the train station, couldn't be more convenient. staff was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious with vegetarian options. the room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, much better than expected.

No elevator, lots of stairs for those with mobility issues.

Broken double glazing, noisy room.

The Marine was great value for money – our room was spotlessly clean, smartly decorated and had everything we needed. The location was excellent, close to the train station, ferries, pubs and restaurants. The staff team were extremely friendly, kind and helpful, making our stay a pleasure.

The breakfast experience could have been improved with a wider variety of options.

The room at The Marine was absolutely pristine and I couldn't have asked for more. The bed was comfortable and the TV provided great entertainment. I was pleasantly surprised to find a coffee and tea station with a kettle, making it convenient to enjoy a hot beverage. The bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries, ensuring I had everything I needed. Additionally, the location of the hotel was ideal, with restaurants and the ferry jetty close by. Parking was also easily available in front of the hotel. The informative and helpful staff made my stay even more enjoyable. I had a great experience at The Marine and would highly recommend it.

The Marine in Mallaig exceeded expectations with its fascinating location, great history, and fabulous seafood. Despite not offering grandeur, the hotel provided homely, clean, and modern accommodations at a reasonable price. The owners were sweet, accommodating, and hardworking, and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice of options.

Can't fault anything about it.

Lovely room on the top floor with a double bed and bunk beds for the kids, comfortable and spacious. Great location for access to the ferries. Very good breakfast served in a large airy room with a view of the sea. Staff are really helpful and welcoming. Mattresses are so comfortable. Rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. The hotel has undergone renovations, so it is well presented and tidy. The staff are highly trained in hospitality and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

stayed at marine each visit, but this time was different - total makeover! perfect location by train station and ferry terminal, friendly staff, clean and comfy room. loved the train experience and coast sunsets as background. marine exceeded expectations, a must-stay in mallaig for west coast explorations.

Parking a bit tricky, busy area.

Great location near the ferry terminal and easy access to local restaurants. the room had a lovely sea view and was clean, comfortable, and spacious. the breakfast provided was tasty and substantial.

the self check-in process was seamless, and the staff went above and beyond to provide a clothes horse for our wet bike gear. the location was perfect, with a grocery store right across the street and everything within meters.

Fire security was a concern.

my recent stay in mallaig was made even better by marine. the central location and parking were convenient, and the staff went above and beyond to help with restaurant reservations. the room was clean and had a spacious bathroom, and the pub downstairs was a fun spot to meet locals.

The Marine hotel in Mallaig was a pleasant surprise. The recent refurbishment made it modern and spotlessly clean. The staff provided excellent Highland hospitality and were eager to help us make the most of our time in the area. The rooms were well-equipped and the view of the Sound of Sleet from our bedroom was superb. The inclusive breakfast offered a wide range of delicious options.

We had a great stay at this cozy inn. the staff at Marine were friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with helpful information throughout our stay. the decor of the hotel was stylish and inviting, and we appreciated the small touches like complimentary tea and coffee. the location was perfect, being very close to the rail station and offering easy access to the surrounding area. Our room, despite facing the Main Street, was well-insulated and we had no issues with noise. the room itself was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bath and a comfortable mattress. we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend Marine to others.
