We stayed at Northern Sands for a few days while exploring the beautiful surroundings. The hotel impressed us from the start with its modern facilities and friendly staff. The local artwork displayed throughout added a unique touch. The short walk to the stunning sandy bay was a major highlight, and we also enjoyed the proximity to Dunnet Head. The rooms were tastefully decorated with thoughtful details like USB charging points. The bar/restaurant served delicious food and a great selection of local beers. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a lovely area, with a great location for the Gills Bay ferry to Orkney. The rooms, recently refurbished in a modern style, offer a decent view of the sea. I was impressed by the attention to detail, with tables dressed in white cloths for breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast was delicious, especially the local smoked salmon.

We had a fantastic stay at the Northern Sands. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The dinner options, especially the vegan dishes and fish and chips, were outstanding. The breakfast was hot and delicious, and the ordering system was convenient. The hotel is well-managed and stands out as the best in the North of Scotland. Don't miss the nearby Gin Distillery shop, even though the distillery itself was temporarily closed. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
