We recently stayed at Ormsgill Inn for a short break in Barrow. The warm welcome from Jim made us feel right at home. The beautifully decorated room was spotlessly clean and had a fantastic bathroom. The bar downstairs had a friendly atmosphere and the breakfast was delicious. Jim and Lyn were also very helpful in giving us tips on exploring the nearby lakes. We will definitely be back!

Hidden Gem in Barrow

We stumbled upon this charming inn for our Lake District getaway. A short walk from the train station, it had unexpected character and a lively bar serving a wide array of beers. We played darts and billiards, surrounded by the nostalgic tunes of an old jukebox. The rooms were simple yet comfy, and the full English breakfast was customized to our liking. We even left our retainer kit behind, and they promptly sent it back to us. Despite the ongoing facade work, the Ormsgill Inn is a delightful family-run establishment with excellent hospitality. The free onsite parking was a bonus, and the location was perfect for exploring the Lake District. We can't wait to return in the summer. highly recommended!

my recent stay at a nearby hotel in Barrow-in-Furness was average, but Ormsgill Inn exceeded my expectations. The friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfast made me feel like I was among old friends. The location was peaceful and perfect for exploring the Lakes. I highly recommend Ormsgill Inn for a pleasant stay.

We spent our Easter holiday in an English inn and it was great. the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. One of the best things about the hotel was the free parking on site, which was really convenient. the location was also great for exploring the Lake District and there was plenty to see nearby. We also received some great recommendations for places to visit and eat in the area from the staff.

One negative aspect of the inn was that it was a bit difficult to get to if you didn't have a car. the shower in our room was a bit awkward to use and the water kept going everywhere.

The hosts were amazing. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent. The location was convenient, just off the main road and a great base to explore the Lake District.

the hosts, Jim and Lynn, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They upgraded us to a spacious upper floor apartment, which was beautifully decorated and made our long stay very comfortable. After long hikes, it was a pleasure to come back to a homely and relaxing space. the breakfast provided was delicious, and the free parking on-site was convenient. Jim and Lynn also gave us helpful tips on places to visit and eat, making our first visit to the Lake District even more enjoyable.
