My partner and I recently had a brilliant stay at this hotel. we were impressed with the value for money - it was definitely worth every penny. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was remarkable, from the beautifully decorated rooms to the spacious bathroom with a lovely view of the church. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. And to top it all off, the breakfast included a slice of pie with shriveled-up meat which was turning black! It was a unique touch that we thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a fantastic second stay at this country inn. The rooms are beautifully refurbished with a stylish blend of old and new. We loved the Nespresso machine in our room, a thoughtful touch. The restaurant served excellent food, and we also enjoyed the great selection of tap beers in the bar. The peaceful village setting opposite the church and close to Box Hill was exactly what we were looking for. Running Horses provided a bigger than average room for a "real" country inn experience.

I booked this hotel last minute after my flight was cancelled and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. the staff at Running Horses were incredibly reassuring and made sure I had a comfortable stay, even staying late to accommodate my late arrival. the location in the beautiful Surrey hills was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Polesdon Lacey and Boxhill. the gate house where I stayed was delightful, with a small garden offering a view of the nearby church. the room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom with a tub and scalding hot water. the attention to detail, such as the complimentary bottled water and ample tea supplies, made my stay even more enjoyable. And I can't forget to mention the bustling pub on-site, offering delicious food and local ales, as well as a wonderful cooked breakfast included in the stay.

Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

We had a wonderful stay in a comfortable room overlooking the historic church. The decor was pleasant and the bathroom was great. The staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic, with a nice selection of options. The pub down the road provided a lovely atmosphere for dinner, and the surrounding picturesque Surrey hills were a treat to explore. We even had the pleasure of meeting an Australian family who also chose to stay in this typical English pub.

We did find that the lunch menu was a bit strange and overpriced.
