The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made a positive impression on me. Additionally, the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the city, with easy access to the town center and its attractions. Another advantage was the affordable price, which made it budget-friendly for a city break.

The condition of the room was subpar, with peeling wallpaper and stains on the walls. The cleanliness left much to be desired, as the shower appeared to have not been cleaned in ages and there were strange stains all over.

The parking was conveniently located, and the hotel's location was very close to the town center, next to the train station, and ideal for attending an event at Watford Colosseum. Additionally, the pub next to the train station offered a great atmosphere and served delicious food and drinks.

Our recent stay at Southern Cross was absolutely fantastic. The location was convenient, with plenty of parking available. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the ensuite shower, which was a great bonus. Despite the pub below being busy, our room was quiet both before we went out and when we returned. The pub itself had a great menu with delicious food, and we even enjoyed some affordable prosecco over the weekend. The owner of the hotel was also very accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier so we wouldn't miss our Harry Potter show in London. The free on-site parking and proximity to Watford Junction train station were also major pluses. we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend Southern Cross.

One minor drawback was that the pub stayed open quite late, so we could occasionally hear some noise from our room. However, this did not significantly impact our overall experience.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and within walking distance to the town center. This made it really easy to explore the area and get around. the hotel offers a good value for the price. the rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

There were a couple of downsides. the curtains in the room were not blackout, so it was a bit difficult to sleep when it was still light outside.

During my stay, we unfortunately experienced a few issues. The radiator in our room wasn't working, making it freezing cold throughout the night. The bathroom had a leak and the lock was broken. Additionally, there was a noisy generator nearby and the beds were vibrating. However, despite these setbacks, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were greeted by Dan, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. I would still recommend this hotel due to its excellent customer service and willingness to address any concerns.

I recently stayed at Southern Cross in Watford for a few nights and had a great experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pub on-site was fantastic. The hotel had plenty of parking available and the food was really good. I enjoyed the wide selection of drinks at the pub, and the wifi in the room was a bonus. The room itself had all the basics I needed, including a desk, small TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Despite the ongoing renovations, I can already tell that this place is going to be beautiful once it's finished and decorated.

Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location for train station and shops. Nice size bed and shower in the room. Good TV, just needs new batteries for the remote. Excited for renovations and decor, looks promising. Pricey now, but will be worth it once updated.

However, I must admit that the room itself was decent. It was clean and cozy, with comfortable beds that provided a good night's sleep. the location was also a plus, as it was within walking distance of the town center and the train station. the prices for food and drinks were competitive, which was a nice surprise.

No one was there to check me in, even though I had specified my arrival time in advance. Luckily, a fellow guest let me in and we had to search for staff on the top floor.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The best aspects were the cleanliness, hotel facilities, location next to the train station, and the helpful staff. We also enjoyed the good value for money breakfast. We will be returning for a longer stay.
