I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at this hotel. The prices were reasonable considering the amenities and service provided. The staff were friendly and the check-in process was simple and easy with self-service check-in. The room itself was nicely equipped, with a great TV and a comfy bed. I particularly enjoyed having a balcony on the top floor, which offered a nice view. The bathroom was also well-equipped and the shower was decent. this hotel had everything I needed for the amount of money I paid.

One aspect that could be improved is the noise level. The hotel is located in a lively area, which meant that there was some noise from the surrounding establishments.

It was close to restaurants, bars, and other amenities, making it convenient for exploring and grabbing a bite to eat. the staff was friendly and accommodating, always trying to address any issues as quickly as possible. One of the best aspects was the delicious breakfast, which included a full English option cooked to order, along with pastries and cereals to choose from. Plus, they served famous jam from Tiptree, adding a tasty touch to the meal.

The room lacked air conditioning, and the fan provided wasn't enough to cool down the space adequately. This made it uncomfortable to sleep, especially with the noise from the high street when the windows were open.

Complementary breakfast and dinner were nice gestures! the location was good as it was easy to walk to all the shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the beautiful view from our room.

Our stay was ruined by the loud music coming from outside until the early hours of the morning which made it impossible to get any sleep. When we mentioned this to the manager, they were not sympathetic at all.

The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with underfloor heating. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring the city center, castle, and train station. a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

St Nicholas Hotel in Colchester was a great value for the price, with a spacious and comfortable room and lovely decor. The location on the high street was convenient and the self check-in process was straightforward. The staff were quick to respond and helpful when we had an issue with the radiator in the bathroom. a positive experience and we would stay again.

One small breakfast option could have been better, but it did not take away from the overall enjoyable stay.

The hotel's location is perfect, right in the center of town close to shops, restaurants, and pubs. The room was fantastic, very spacious, with plenty of windows and amazing facilities. The bathroom was also great, with a perfect shower.

Excellent central location, modern rooms with thoughtful amenities, large bathroom, comfortable bed, complimentary wifi, USB plug sockets. Great value for money.

The location couldn't have been better for our romantic escape. We were surrounded by restaurants, bars, and the cinema, making it easy to have a romantic night out. the staff were friendly and tried their best to fix any issues we had. Plus, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and kept us satisfied all day. We particularly enjoyed the cooked-to-order eggs and the selection of pastries and cereals. the jam from tiptree was a nice touch too.

The lack of air conditioning in the room was a major disappointment, especially during the heatwave. Despite a control panel on the wall, it was non-functional, leaving us to rely on open windows for ventilation, which only increased the noise from the high street.

The staff were incredibly helpful, beautiful hotel with open fires, comfortable seating areas, amazing breakfast, accommodating tea room.

The location of this hotel was perfect! It was right in the heart of the city, with all the shops and facilities just a stone's throw away. the room itself was spotless and had all the amenities I needed. the bathroom was surprisingly spacious and had a powerful shower. I also loved the fact that there was a self-check-in option, which made the process super convenient.

There were a couple of downsides to my stay. the double bed in my room was a bit on the smaller side, but that's just a personal preference.

As longer term business travelers, we loved the large room and the central location. The bath and shower were a great addition to our comfortable stay. The warm welcome we received, even in the middle of the night after a long delay, made us feel valued and appreciated.
