We loved the amazing location with stunning sea and lake views. The hotel is close to the Orkney Standing Stones and the Ring of Brodgar, perfect for exploring. The breakfast offered a variety of options and was delicious. We also appreciated the storage for our bikes and the convenience of the X1 bus right outside.

The staff at the hotel were attentive and friendly, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

This hotel exceeded our expectations with its amazing location, offering stunning views of the sea, farm land, and lake. The rooms were spacious with tasteful decor and had an amazing view of the historic ring of Brodgar and the stones of Stenness. The basic amenities were provided, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is centrally located, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. From there, you can easily visit the Standing Stones and enjoy the breathtaking Loch views. I had a fantastic room, with a spacious bathroom and a lovely corner bath. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious and set me up for a great day of exploring. Additionally, the little restaurant in the evening was a cozy spot to unwind after a long day. Lastly, the hotel's proximity to the Ferry at Stensness was very convenient.

I did notice some doors slamming throughout my stay, which could be a bit disruptive.

We couldn't have asked for a better location during our stay in Orkney. The Standing Stones Hotel was within easy walking distance to the Neolithic World Heritage sites, making it incredibly convenient. Exploring the Stones of Stennes, Maeshowe Visitor Centre, and other attractions was a breeze. Additionally, the hotel was close to the bus stop, which made it easy to travel to other destinations on the island.

This hotel is perfect for exploring the World Heritage site of Neolithic Orkney. The location is superb, within easy walking distance of all the main attractions such as the Stones of Stennes, Maeshowe Visitor Centre, and the Ring of Brodgar. Additionally, the bus stop for the X1 bus is just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient to travel to other destinations on the island.

All was okay, although the room could have been more comfortable with better bathroom accessories.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. the location was absolutely fantastic, with beautiful views across the Loch. It was the perfect spot for walks with our dog. Secondly, the room itself was wonderful - well appointed and the bed was large and comfortable, complete with good bedding. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room even had a balcony, giving us not one, but two glorious views. Lastly, the breakfast provided by the hotel was delicious, with a range of options to choose from. We particularly enjoyed dining in the little restaurant in the evening, taking in the lovely atmosphere.

All aspects of our stay at this hotel were absolutely fine.

Great location for exploring Orkney Mainland. Close to Maeshowe Visitor Centre, Stennes Stones, Brodgar Stone Circle, and Ness of Brodgar. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and good breakfast. Limited restaurant hours. Would stay again!

I recently stayed at the Standing Stones Hotel for a few days and it was fantastic! The staff was friendly, the breakfast options were great, and our room had a clean and functional layout with an amazing view of the Loch. The hotel's location was also perfect, allowing us to easily explore historical sites and enjoy the scenery. I loved being able to see the Steness Standing Stones and the Ring of Brodgar from my balcony, as well as the beautiful lake with swans right behind the hotel. it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Had an amazing Thanksgiving stay at this hotel! the staff were super helpful and friendly, even helping us out with an extra night due to bad weather. the location was so convenient, just a short distance from the ferry. the breakfast was delicious and served at perfect timings. the room was clean and functional with a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

The lack of restaurant during our visit which forced us to drive elsewhere for an evening meal. This resulted in the bar being less lively than we expected, closing early most nights.

Beautiful views of the loch, pleasant breakfast options, and helpful mother and daughter team. Service was excellent despite staff shortage. Dog bed provided, saving us from bringing our own. Dinner was enjoyable.
