Fantastic location for fell/mountain walks, daily steam train in front of property, nearby establishment with great atmosphere and friendly hosts, lovely grounds for kids to enjoy, beautiful views.

The rooms are clean and the bedsheets feel fresh, providing a comfortable stay. the hotel offers shared facilities such as a kitchen with a large dining area and a lounge equipped with a piano and games for kids.

Some aspects of the hotel, such as the outdated furniture and the musty smell in the hallways, could use improvement.

Great sized rooms with lovely views, and excellent access to local attractions. Hot drinks and WiFi were provided, and the staff were friendly.

The decor was dated in some areas and not all facilities were in working order. the cleanliness of some areas was also disappointing.

We stayed at Stanley House for one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The kitchen facilities were great, with plenty of storage for food and cooking. The bedroom was a decent size and had a kettle and tea accessories. The en suite bathroom was very spacious. The hotel had plenty of living room space and a dining area. The location was amazing, remote yet extremely scenic. The facilities were fantastic and perfect for meeting new people. Lots to do nearby, including fell/mountain walks and steam trains.

Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

As a family with 2 small kids, we loved the self-catering cottage with its clean and comfortable rooms. The location was perfect for walks and the nearby pubs served delicious food. The kids enjoyed the huge garden and access to the river.
