We had a lovely time at Swinton Bivouac! The lodge was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hammock outside was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing. The facilities, like the wood stove and well-appointed bathroom, were impressive. We especially loved the rechargeable light bulbs, which lasted all night and could be exchanged for freshly charged ones at the cafe. The location was superb, with beautiful views of the surrounding fields and plenty of space for the kids to play. The druids temple and central facilities near the cafe were a hit with the whole family. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. Despite a few minor drawbacks, like the lack of towels and occasional slippiness on the decking, our stay was delightful. We enjoyed being off-grid and disconnecting from technology, playing board games by candlelight. we highly recommend Swinton Bivouac for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

Inside, we had a sweet little burner to cook and make coffee, as well as a well-appointed bathroom. The hand wash was a lovely touch. The central facilities near the cafe were great, with a swing, cinema room, play area. We also loved the rechargeable light bulbs, which lasted all night and could be swapped at the cafe. a brilliant and enjoyable stay.

We had a fantastic overnight trip at Swinton Bivouac to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. The location was lovely, and the staff were really friendly. It was a unique experience with fairy lights and candles for lighting. We also appreciated the extra touch of hot water bottles and a flask of hot chocolate waiting for us. The cafe, showers, and lounge were great amenities.

We were not informed upon arrival or in the welcome books that we needed to book a table for dinner in the cafe. As a result, we were unable to have dinner on our last night.

The log burner kept us warm while we played games and enjoyed some quality family time. The beds were comfy, and the shower was warm and clean. The decking outside provided a lovely spot to watch the sunrise. The staff were friendly and there was always an ample supply of firewood. it was a wonderful experience.

The narrow and rough road leading to the retreat could be challenging, especially for low-slung cars.
