The check-in process was a bit of a hassle and we had to wait outside the hotel for a while, but the staff were very friendly and helpful once we got inside. the room itself was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. the breakfast choices were excellent, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes.

I had a fantastic stay at this cozy inn just outside of the city. The room was spotless and had a great bathroom with nice touches like good coffee and tea facilities. The breakfast, especially the full English, was delicious and set us up for the day. The bar had a traditional feel and was very welcoming. The location was perfect, just a 10-minute drive to the city center or you could easily catch a bus right across the road. There were plenty of places to explore and great restaurants nearby. I would definitely return to this lovely inn when I fancy another trip to this charming destination. I highly recommend it!

avenue was a refreshing change from my usual stay in newcastle. contactless check-in and clear communication made things easy. the room with a comfortable bed, bath, and extra pillows was great. the bar offered a delicious menu and reasonably priced drinks. the friendly and helpful staff were a bonus. breakfast was amazing, setting us up for the day. highly recommend for a stay near durham.

Noise from bar and outside disturbed sleep.

During our stay, the location of the hotel proved to be ideal for exploring the Durham area. On what is probably the busiest weekend of the year in the NE, the Avenue maintained a calm and cozy ambiance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a well-designed bathroom. The staff provided excellent service and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The breakfast was delicious and offered good value for money.

We decided to stay in a hotel near the city centre and found a great option. The location was convenient, just a short taxi ride from the railway station. The Avenue was a lovely hotel tucked away in a peaceful area. Our room was spacious and well-furnished, with a great view of the surrounding fields. We were impressed with the friendly staff and the excellent breakfast selection.

The Avenue Durham offers excellent value for money, with reasonable prices and attention to detail. The location above a quiet pub with excellent food makes it a great find. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are comfortable, with nice bathrooms and comfy beds. The breakfast options are impressive, with several delicious vegetarian dishes to choose from.

Had a great thanksgiving stay! the breakfast was amazing, with an expansive buffet and pancakes that can rival any restaurant. the location was perfect, as it was very easy to get into town with the bus stop right outside. Also loved the friendly and helpful staff, who truly made our stay enjoyable.

The bathroom facilities were a bit inconvenient, with a large step to enter the shower and a toilet brush that needed replacing. the noise level in the room was quite high and made it difficult to sleep at times.
