As a runner participating in an ultramarathon, I stayed at Carlton Lodge with my family. The hosts, Harry and Lisa, were fantastic, accommodating my early morning race schedule by providing a pre-race breakfast in our room. The room itself was comfortable, warm, and well-maintained. Despite overlooking a busy road, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The breakfasts were delicious, with a good variety of choices. The owners' knowledge of the local area and outdoor activities was invaluable.

amazing stay at helmsley retreat. charming b&b with newly renovated room, comfy bed, and fantastic ensuite. breakfast was a highlight with delicious options and homemade yogurt. the helpful host gave us maps for great walks right from the doorstep. definitely surpassed our expectations for a luxury holiday escape.

Had a good Easter break, but the best part of staying at this place was the breakfast. Yummy food, definitely worth waking up for. liked that it was close to the town center, so could easily walk around and explore. The off-road parking was also convenient.

The downside was the room. Not the cleanest I've seen, and the television placement was a bit awkward.
