My recent winter break at Carpenters Arms was simply lovely. I upgraded to a cozy garden room which was not only excellent value but also accommodated my small dog. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with complimentary teas, coffee, and toiletries. I particularly enjoyed lounging by the log fire, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the food choices were top-notch. I also appreciated the drying area, perfect for post-walk activities. it was a wonderful stay that surpassed my expectations.

Drawbacks: Although I was delighted with my upgraded room, it would have been even better if it was included in my initial package. Additionally, breakfast starting at 08.00 was a bit late for me, as I had a strict 8.30 deadline to leave.

The cleanliness was impeccable, with spotlessly clean rooms and a stylish bathroom. The hotel facilities were great, especially the beautiful garden that provided a relaxing ambiance. The parking was convenient, and there were plenty of spaces available. The location was perfect, offering easy access to nearby attractions and beautiful walking routes. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The breakfast in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff provided prompt and attentive service.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The quiet and spacious bedroom and bathroom were a pleasant surprise. The view from the patio window was beautiful, creating a serene atmosphere.

There were a couple of downsides to our stay. First, there was some unpleasantness in the form of dog excrement outside our door in the morning, which was quite off-putting.

The location was great, with fantastic views and easy access to Thirsk and the A19 trunk road. The Carpenters Arms will be my go-to place when I'm in Yorkshire.

The home-cooked food is delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. it's the perfect pub to relax and unwind in a picturesque location.

The price of water can be quite steep.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed. The open gas fire in the winter was a wonderful touch. This hotel has a luxurious feel with exclusive amenities that made my stay very enjoyable. The room was beautifully designed and had breathtaking views. The breakfast was delicious and had a variety of options to choose from. Their Sun terrace was perfect to unwind and relax in. The location was ideal as it was close to many attractions. The service was top-notch and the staff was always ready to help with anything I needed.

The only minor issue I had was that the staff at dinner seemed a bit overwhelmed which caused a delay in my order. However, once my meal arrived it was worth the wait as it was absolutely delicious.
