I recently stayed at The Chequers in the lovely village of Smarden. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The 14th century inn has a charming character with a beautiful beer garden surrounding a duck pond. The food was exceptional, with a delicious breakfast and a mouth-watering Sunday roast. The King Arthur room had a stunning four-poster bed and was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had an incredible stay at an inn in a beautiful village. The Sir Galahad room was quirky and historic, yet refurbished to be efficient and comfortable. The garden was cute and the four-poster bed was incredibly soft. The en-suite was modern and smart. The food was excellent and the bar staff, as well as the locals, were extremely friendly and hospitable. The Chequers Inn was the hub of the village and provided a warm welcome and a very comfortable stay. The high-quality food was prepared and presented exceptionally well.

We had a fantastic stay at the Chequers Inn. The room was clean and comfortable with a powerful shower. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, especially the local sausages and bacon for breakfast. The charming pub and lovely garden added to the overall charm of the place. Despite a few minor issues like missing light bulbs and a wobbly mirror light, our experience was great. The staff, especially the blonde waitress, were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.
