They made us feel welcome and were always ready to assist us with any questions or requests we had. the bar area had a great atmosphere - always bustling but not too crowded. the room we stayed in was spacious, warm, and comfortable, with amazing views of the river and the swing bridge. the water pressure in the bathroom was fantastic, with hot water filling up the bath within minutes. the location of the hotel couldn't be better. We felt like we were right in the heart of everything, with the charming tea rooms, restaurants, and unique shops all within walking distance.

We did have to pay for daily parking, which was expected considering the town's traffic. However, while the facilities were basic and the room could use some improvements, it was still clean and provided us with small toiletries.

The hotel's location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city. I could easily explore different parts of the city that I hadn't visited before. The view from my room, overlooking the harbor, was spectacular. I could see the water rise so high during high tide, which was quite an adventure. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating, especially towards the kids. The room we had was spacious and had a double sink bathroom. The breakfast offered at the hotel was amazing and good value for money. I had a great experience.

The location couldn't be more perfect – right on the bridge with breathtaking views across the harbor. We were thrilled to be in the heart of everything, close to the sea and just a stone's throw away from all the attractions that Whitby has to offer. Our room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. The bathroom was spotless and well-stocked with all the essentials. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, from the friendly bar staff to the attentive owners who couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The breakfast served was superb, with a wide variety to choose from. We were impressed with the on-site bar, offering fabulous drinks and delicious food at reasonable prices.

It was a shame to experience a small hiccup during our stay. We were surprised when we discovered, moments before we checked out, that we had exceeded our stay by a few minutes.

Limited parking options at a cost.

The Dolphin is located very centrally to everything in Whitby, making it convenient for exploring the town. The hotel is situated near the bridge on the abbey side, right in the town centre. This means that all the attractions, shops, and restaurants are just a short walk away. Additionally, the rooms offer lovely views of the harbour, providing a picturesque backdrop for your stay. The attention to detail is evident, with basic amenities like tea and coffee provided in the rooms, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience. And the breakfast, which is included in the stay, is served right on the water, providing a beautiful view of the river esk. The food is made with good quality ingredients and leaves you more than satisfied.

The owners were friendly and professional, and the breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Despite a small bathroom and occasional parking challenges, I would highly recommend staying at The Dolphin for a delightful Whitby experience. I had a fantastic stay and would definitely choose this hotel again.

The Dolphin Hotel gave us great value for our money with a cozy room and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The location was perfect, overlooking the harbor and within walking distance of all the town's attractions.

Inconsistent shower flow.

The view from my room was amazing and the owners were welcoming and accommodating. the breakfast was good and came out quickly, which was convenient for my business trip. the location was also great as it was close to everything I needed.

The coffee in the morning was not great, as it was sachets instead of fresh brewed. there were some issues with the electricity during my stay which led to a less than desirable shower experience.
