the dunes in barrow-in-furness was a delightful surprise. the staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the room was cozy and clean. the location was perfect for exploring the lakes, and the beautiful decor added to the overall experience. exceeded all expectations.

bathroom needs fixing

I recently spent Easter at this hotel and there were a couple of things that I liked. the rooms were very large and seemed to have been recently refurbished. the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. the hotel was located within walking distance of a beautiful, quiet beach, which was perfect for relaxing walks.

the service at the hotel was lacking in basic customer care. We experienced delays in both the check-in process and in receiving our meals at the restaurant.

The Dunes Hotel was a beautiful place to stay, set in its own grounds and offering a peaceful and quiet location between Dalton-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furness. The hotel facilities were excellent, with large, well-equipped and comfortable rooms. The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The free parking was plentiful, which was a bonus for those traveling by car. Additionally, the location of the hotel was great for visiting nearby attractions such as the South Lakes Safari Zoo and the Sandscale Haws national trust site of Sand Dunes, offering outstanding views and nature walks.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, as it is super close to a gorgeous little beach. It's a perfect spot for those who love the beach and nature, as it is near a nature reserve which is a lovely place to visit. You can easily walk down to the beach and enjoy the beautiful view.

The hotel lacks facilities such as a gym or swimming pool, which would have been a nice addition for guests to enjoy during their stay.

We had a great experience at Dunes Hotel. the staff were friendly and efficient, making our check-in and check-out process speedy. the restaurant had amazing food with a variety of tasty and well-presented choices. We were also grateful to the receptionist, Amy, who kindly upgraded our room after we expressed dissatisfaction with the original double room. the upgraded room was much better and met our expectations. the location was rural but still convenient, only 4 miles outside of the city. we had a lovely stay.

The free Easter egg hunt for kids and the on-site bar were good. the location was okay, but you definitely need a car as there's nothing within walking distance except a small beach.

The room was not clean, we found hairs on the bedding and towels. the breakfast buffet was inadequate and cold.

the room we were initially given did not match the photos on the website, but the staff did move us to another room. the cooked breakfast items were all cold and the toast was limp and soggy.

It was also a refreshing change to find affordable bar prices. the hotel's location, surrounded by countryside, made for a quiet and peaceful stay.

The signage to the hotel was tricky to find, leading to some confusion. There were a few shortcomings with the breakfast service, such as a lack of butter knives and tea availability.
