My girlfriend and I stayed at The Golden Eagle for a weekend city break and were pleasantly surprised by the character and charm of this well-located hotel. The themed room, with its Cheshire Regiment décor, was spotless and had all the modern conveniences we needed, including a record player! The pub downstairs had a great atmosphere, with friendly staff and locals. The breakfast was superb, with a delicious full English served in a quiet and cozy setting. a gem of a hotel with friendly staff, excellent location, and unique décor.

We had a fantastic stay in this city. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre, just opposite a quirky pub. It couldn't have been more convenient, as it was very near to everything we wanted to see in this city, like museums and the racecourse. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the facilities exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, one of the best we've ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing top-notch hospitality throughout our stay.

The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the main shopping street and various sights, making it easy to explore the city. The owners are friendly and down to earth, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was comfortable and had all the necessary facilities, including a spacious bathroom. The breakfast served was delicious and certainly a great start to the day. We also enjoyed the variety of beers offered at the pub. Close to the centre for shopping, hope we can stay here next time we visit.

One minor issue was the lack of a plug near the mirror in the room.

Our room had some dirty cutlery and even a small plastic packet left behind. the water pressure and temperature in the shower were inconsistent, making for an uncomfortable experience.

I recently stayed at the Golden Eagle in Chester for a few nights. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the pub had a great ambiance. The staff were extremely helpful and even managed to secure a free, secure car park nearby. The owner and staff were brilliant - very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, right in the center, and the breakfast was great. We paid a little extra for a full English breakfast and it was excellent. The carparking, although a minute's walk away, was only £5 for 24 hours, and sometimes we got 48 hours for the same price if we mentioned we were staying at the Golden Eagle. it was a gem of a place - the decor, atmosphere, and friendly staff were all amazing. The accommodation was spotless and had a quirky, retro feel. The Sunday lunch was also fantastic. I'll definitely be back.

We loved the quirky style of this pub & BnB. the owner/host has clearly put his heart into rescuing this iconic building. the staff were seriously polite and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent, including a very satisfying full English upgrade. It was a great meeting place without the usual darts, pool table, or karaoke that many pubs think they need. the location was perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants in the city center. the room was cozy with good quality bed linen and a comfortable mattress. the continental breakfast included in the price was just what we needed. Martin, our host, provided great service and local information, and we could trust his parking advice.

It was all superb! 😊
