Spent Easter at this hotel and loved it! the staff were super friendly and helped us with everything we needed. the food was amazing, with a great selection to choose from. We especially enjoyed the homemade chips and hot sandwiches. the bed was very comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the town and nearby shops. Plus, there were delivery services for anything we needed, like food or groceries.

The hotel is a bit run down and could use some updates. Some parts of the hotel were quite noisy, especially during weekends with live music and karaoke nights.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The location was excellent, with convenient parking right outside. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The full English breakfast was delicious, and the burger meals were surprisingly tasty. The hotel had a pool table and a beer garden, which added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

During our romantic escape, we were impressed with the friendly and welcoming staff. the comfortable beds in our spacious room ensured a restful night's sleep, and we appreciated the peace and quiet despite being in a central location. the pub offered a fantastic selection of food and beers, allowing us to indulge in some delicious meals and refreshing drinks.

The hotel seemed to be understaffed, resulting in lengthy wait times, especially during breakfast. there were some minor maintenance issues that needed attention, such as a dodgy kettle and a bathroom in need of upgrading.

The location of the hotel was perfect, situated in a charming countryside village with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. the breakfast served at the hotel was fresh and delicious.

The room we stayed in was on the smaller side and tended to get quite hot during the night. Opening the window to cool down the room resulted in a lot of outside noise, such as traffic and people leaving nearby establishments.

Excellent meal, good old fashion hospitality with good ale and excellent food. the menu is limited but more than adequate. Rib eye steak was excellent and very good value. Friendly and helpful staff.

The pub we stayed at was fantastic! the food was delicious - the steak pie, mushy peas, and chips were the best I've ever had. the staff were friendly and provided great service. They had a wide range of beers and wines to choose from, and even had options for non-alcoholic drinks. the portions were generous, so make sure you come hungry! the location was also great, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. we had a lovely meal and enjoyed the warm welcome from the staff.

Although the room had been recently refreshed, the bed was old and uncomfortable. It had a large dip, and the pillows definitely needed replacing.

It was conveniently located right across the road from the tourist information centre, which made it easy to explore the area. The room I stayed in was spacious and quiet, providing a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The breakfast options were delicious and satisfying, setting me up for a day of exploring. I was impressed with the hotel's facilities and enjoyed my time there.

I had a wonderful stay at the charming pub in the heart of a beautiful village. The staff at the Golden Lion were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my visit. The hearty breakfasts were a highlight of my stay, and the evening menu was also enjoyable. I cannot recommend the Golden Lion enough for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Excellent meal

We were delighted to find a local pub that served hot food on a Sunday evening during our holiday. The pub itself gave us a nostalgic feel with its old-fashioned hospitality, good ale, and of course, the excellent food. The menu may be limited, but it was more than enough for our tastes. I ordered the rib eye steak and was blown away by its quality and value for money. If only I hadn't been driving, I would have happily stayed longer to enjoy the ale and chat with the regulars. I highly recommend this pub for a delicious meal.
