We stayed at Great Western for a wedding and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a room to get ready comfortably. The room was spacious with a great bathroom and plenty of towels. The staff were warm, friendly, and informative, and the hotel had a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere. It was a nice touch to find fresh coffee, milk, and water in the room. Highly recommended due to the amazing and diligent staff.

Great location near the train station and quiet atmosphere. the staff was excellent, providing friendly and helpful service, and the breakfast was freshly cooked, with great eggs benedict. Loved the beautifully decorated contemporary room, complete with Bramley toiletries, and the thoughtful night porter who provided a plate and cutlery for my takeaway and a bottle of milk for tea.

Room was small with no wardrobe, and the bed was too hard with only two thin pillows each. Towels were too small, and the shower could have had better pressure and consistent temperature.

The staff at Great Western Hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and we appreciated the fresh milk in a thermos and water in a reusable bottle, minimizing plastic waste. It was great to know that our stay supported a worthy YMCA charity. I highly recommend this hotel.

Conveniently located opposite the train station with a longish walk into town. Spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, with windows that actually opened. Comfy bed, desk, and a shower room. Enjoyed the fresh cooked breakfast and lounge area with books. Helpful staff and a grass terrace at the back.
