The hotel is located in a really beautiful village just outside the city, with plenty of walks available right from the doorstep. The usual dining tables were situated near a lovely open fire in the evenings, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The room had all the little extras you would expect, like bottled water and toiletries, and was immaculately presented.

That the open fire was not lit in the morning and was a bit too far away from the breakfast area.

We had a fantastic stay at the Helyar Arms. the staff were friendly and the food was excellent, both for our evening meals and breakfasts. the village itself is charming, and if you have an interest in Australian history, the local church is worth a visit. We also appreciated using the pub as a base to explore the nearby National Trust properties. the rooms, food, beer, and staff were all top-notch.

The hotel also provided separate access for families with children, allowing them to run around and enjoy themselves.

The only minor issue was that the breakfast could have been better. The toast and preserves were included, but it would have been nicer if they weren't served in a cooking fat puddled bowl.
