The room was impeccably clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, right by the Barbican with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. The room had nice little touches, like bottles of water and a lovely scent of lemon grass.

The hotel is not very well-suited for guests with restricted mobility, as the stairs to the top floor are steep and there is no handrail. , some guests have reported issues with cleanliness, such as a dirty shower and valance sheet, as well as rooms being damp.

The value for the money at this hotel was outstanding. The room was beautifully renovated, with pristine decor and brand new bathrooms. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the main street, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast selection could be improved with a wider variety of options.

I had a lovely stay at Island Lodge on the Hoe, Barbican, Free Parking for one night after arriving from France on the ferry. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beautiful harbour. There were plenty of things to do and see nearby, and lots of options for food. The room was comfortable and had plenty of storage space. I also appreciated the room downstairs where I could bring back food and the helpful maps available. The staff were friendly, and the area was peaceful.

Island Lodge On The Hoe is the perfect base for a group of friends looking to explore the beautiful surroundings. Situated by the sea in a quiet area, it offers a convenient location close to everything. The newly refurbished rooms have been a great improvement, with everything newly installed and very clean. The drinks tray was well stocked and the communal fridge and microwave were a nice touch for storing and heating meals. The availability of crockery and cutlery was a bonus. The parking can be tricky, but the friendly staff were accommodating and allowed us to use their space.

Some guests experienced a lack of communication regarding room allocation and cleanliness upon arrival, which resulted in disappointment and inconvenience.

We absolutely loved the Island Lodge on the Hoe. The location was fantastic, with plenty to do and see nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room size was adequate and there was ample storage space for clothes. We appreciated the room where we could bring back food to eat, as well as the availability of maps and other helpful information. The local area was quiet, which made for a peaceful stay.

I loved how everything was within walking distance, from the aquarium to the local entertainment. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The hotel facilities were excellent, with beautifully renovated and spacious rooms. The cleanliness was top-notch, and the hotel offered free parking, which was a great convenience.

We booked a last-minute stay at Island Lodge On the Hoe, and despite it being a budget option, we were pleasantly surprised. the rooms were clean, if a bit outdated, but that was expected. the location was central, with easy access to the Hoe and Barbican, which was great. the WiFi worked well, and the couple running the lodge were friendly. it was good value for money and exceeded our expectations.

island lodge on the hoe surpassed our previous stay in plymouth. the location was fabulous, steps away from the beautiful harbor and the breathtaking hoe. ziggy and ken, the hosts, were absolutely lovely and made us feel at home. we enjoyed the nearby attractions like the aquarium and had a fantastic fishing trip with plymouth boats. overall, a wonderful and memorable experience.

Great location just steps away from the harbour and attractions of the Barbican area. the view of Plymouth Sound from the nearby Hoe is amazing. We enjoyed taking a scenic harbour cruise and visiting the aquarium. the fishing trip with Plymouth Boats was a highlight, even though the dolphins had scared away some of the fish. It was a fun and friendly experience. the room was basic but clean, providing a kettle and microwave for our convenience. a charming and tranquil place to rest and recover.

Parking was limited and we had to use a paid car park on the second night. the shower was not great, with a drippy faucet and water temperature issues.
