I had a lovely stay at Island Lodge on the Hoe, Barbican, Free Parking for one night after arriving from France on the ferry. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beautiful harbour. There were plenty of things to do and see nearby, and lots of options for food. The room was comfortable and had plenty of storage space. I also appreciated the room downstairs where I could bring back food and the helpful maps available. The staff were friendly, and the area was peaceful.

Strongly recommend this hotel.

Island Lodge On The Hoe is the perfect base for a group of friends looking to explore the beautiful surroundings. Situated by the sea in a quiet area, it offers a convenient location close to everything. The newly refurbished rooms have been a great improvement, with everything newly installed and very clean. The drinks tray was well stocked and the communal fridge and microwave were a nice touch for storing and heating meals. The availability of crockery and cutlery was a bonus. The parking can be tricky, but the friendly staff were accommodating and allowed us to use their space.

Some guests experienced a lack of communication regarding room allocation and cleanliness upon arrival, which resulted in disappointment and inconvenience.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, being very close to the beautiful harbour, the Barbican, and the Hoe. I loved how everything was within walking distance, from the aquarium to the local entertainment. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The hotel facilities were excellent, with beautifully renovated and spacious rooms. The cleanliness was top-notch, and the hotel offered free parking, which was a great convenience.

Couldn't stay longer. The only downside was some noise disturbance from other guests and their pets.

Great location just steps away from the harbour and attractions of the Barbican area. the view of Plymouth Sound from the nearby Hoe is amazing. We enjoyed taking a scenic harbour cruise and visiting the aquarium. the fishing trip with Plymouth Boats was a highlight, even though the dolphins had scared away some of the fish. It was a fun and friendly experience. the room was basic but clean, providing a kettle and microwave for our convenience. a charming and tranquil place to rest and recover.

Parking was limited and we had to use a paid car park on the second night. the shower was not great, with a drippy faucet and water temperature issues.

We enjoyed scenic harbour cruises and visited the nearby aquarium, which was a lot of fun. The owners, Ziggy and Ken, were absolutely lovely and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a kettle and microwave for our convenience. The free parking was a bonus, although it could be a bit tricky finding a space sometimes. we had a great time and would definitely recommend this charming guest house.
