our recent stay in belper was fantastic. lion hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. from the ease of check-in to the attentive and friendly staff, everything was top-notch. the bar and dining experience were exceptional, and the overall atmosphere was delightful. highly recommended!

Shower needs improvement.

The hotel is in a great location right in the town centre, surrounded by grassy hills. The staff are attentive and provide excellent service. The rooms have been recently updated, including the bathrooms, and the showers are excellent.

I recently stayed at a hotel in the area and had a positive experience. The location was great, with a shop in the garage next door and being close enough to walk up the high street. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with new carpets and decor. The staff provided friendly service, making sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast options were satisfactory, with a selection of meats, cheeses, and fresh fruit. it was a pleasant stay with good facilities and a convenient location.

Spent Easter at a lovely hotel with a great location near beautiful countryside areas and a variety of attractions. the staff were very friendly and helpful, making sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We also appreciated the clean and spacious rooms, as well as the delicious breakfast offered each morning.

It is conveniently close to the town center and just down the road from the train station. The modern facilities and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a tasty breakfast with a good-quality cup of coffee. The comfortable beds and well-appointed furnishings ensure a relaxing stay. Additionally, ample parking and quick check-in/check-out add to the overall convenience.

The room radiators never came on, which made for a chilly night.

As longer term business travellers, we loved the spacious and clean king size room at this hotel. The amenities provided were sufficient for our stay, and the exceptional staff from reception to housekeeping made our experience even better. The location of the hotel was convenient, with a nice high street and variety of shops nearby. The Memorial Park and Riverside Park added to the charm of the area. We especially enjoyed dining in the restaurant both nights, as the food was excellent and the staff polite and helpful. The courtyard and bar areas were also enjoyable, offering a different ambiance.

Great atmosphere and layout, with a courtyard and outdoor area. Friendly staff and excellent food, including a lovely breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean, high-quality bed linen. TV with lots of channels and free WiFi. Free secure car parking, plus a convenient location.

The location of the hotel was convenient, being situated on a main road and next to a 24-hour service station. This made it easy for a pair of over 60's with mobility issues and luggage to access. The room was clean and the breakfast included delicious sausages. The staff provided good service with quick response times.

The noise from the bar and kitchen extractor fans disrupted sleep.

The hotel staff provided 1st class service, offering all the information and special requirements I needed for my stay. The room was huge with a lovely big bed, very warm and comfortable. The breakfast was great and served by very friendly staff. The hotel's location was perfect for playing golf.

The atmosphere at Lion was fantastic, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The food was exceptional, with a wide variety of locally sourced ingredients to choose from. The location was also perfect for the activities we had planned. The walk we took the next morning was absolutely beautiful.

I had a minor issue with the curtains in my room, but the staff promptly fixed them when I brought it to their attention. Despite this small inconvenience, the cleanliness of the room exceeded my expectations.
