The cottage we stayed in was perfect. It had unexpected amenities like a toaster and microwave, and it was well-stocked with essentials like washing-up liquid and cutlery. the owners were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. the water from their natural borehole was delicious and left my hair feeling incredibly soft. the location was ideal for exploring both Devon and Cornwall, with attractions like the Eden Project and Dartmoor Zoo within a reasonable distance.

The only downside was the noise from the nearby main road, which could be bothersome at times. Additionally, the limited food menu at the pub could use more options, although the quality of the dishes was high.

Stayed in the adjacent cottage - perfect facilities, everything I needed was already there. Beautiful, locally sourced food in the restaurant. Friendly welcome and no rush. Settling the bill was easy.

Our stay at The Portsmouth Arms was fantastic. We stayed in one of the cosy cottages and it was perfect. The beds were really comfy and the cottage had a fridge and microwave. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was delicious and cooked to order. The hotel bar was a great place to unwind and chat with the locals. The location, although remote, was ideal for our hiking trip and exploring the area. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

They made sure that I had everything I needed and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Secondly, the location of the hotel was perfect. It was situated near some key attractions and landmarks, making it easy for me to explore the area. Lastly, I really enjoyed the festive atmosphere at the hotel. There were decorations everywhere and the hotel had a cozy and warm feeling, which made my Christmas experience even more enjoyable.
