Located on a road junction, The Red Lion Matlock is conveniently close to all amenities, the main streets, and the old church. The rooms are spacious, modern, and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and extra blankets for chilly nights. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing a clean and comfortable experience. The restaurant serves excellent evening meals and breakfast. The pub garden is well-spaced and the perfect spot to relax.

One downside mentioned by a guest was the bed, which was unstable and noisy when turning over, with an uncomfortable mattress.

Our xmas stay was affordable and included a nice breakfast with quality sausages and perfectly poached eggs. The bathroom was modern and had a great shower. The traditional pub atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly.

We were disappointed that the pub didn't serve any food on Christmas day and limited options on Boxing Day. The town itself was very quiet during the holidays with few places open to eat.
