We got great value for our money at The Roast Ox Inn. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for our motorbike trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The breakfast option could be improved by working on the salad dressing, as it tasted too vinegary.

The room was spotlessly clean with a breathtaking view of the Black Mountains. The food in the restaurant was absolutely stunning, especially the pork stroganoff and the Thai sea bass. The breakfast the following morning was fantastic too. The staff, especially Guy, were always on hand and very helpful. The atmosphere in the bar was delightful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We felt like we were in a little piece of heaven!

The location was perfect for us, with just a short drive to Hay-on-Wye and surrounded by beautiful countryside that was ideal for walking and running. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay an absolute pleasure. The food at the inn was delicious and well-cooked, offering great value for money. If we ever visit this area again, the Roast Ox will definitely be our top choice for accommodation.

Key location fact: Close enough to attend a local sheep sale. One more advantage: the shower had great water pressure.
