had a wonderful weekend at a cozy inn in selmeston. hosts were welcoming and attentive, even to our furry friend. stunning views from our room and loved sitting on the deck. delicious homecooked british meals available too. highly recommend this hidden gem.

oven was dirty and unusable

Great location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a short drive to the coast. the room was spacious and peaceful, with lovely views of open fields. the electric heating worked well and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing meals if needed. Private off-road parking was convenient.

Room cleanliness could have been better, with dust under the bed and no pillow protector. the shower was not safe as it could produce scalding water with no warning provided.

During my Christmas stay, I really enjoyed the peaceful location offered by the property, which was surrounded by fields and horses. the owners were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast served in the lovely old dining room was excellent. One of the best aspects was the great walking routes from the property, which made exploring the area a real treat.

One of the worst aspects was the room itself, which was quite basic and had a musty smell. It was also quite cold and the electric heater didn't seem to do much to warm it up.

The location of Rose Cottage Inn was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the beautiful countryside of Sussex. The remote setting amidst the South Downs allowed us to truly escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We enjoyed a lovely walk through the fields to a nearby pub for some delicious food. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious, and had all the necessary amenities. Considering the price, it was an amazing deal. The host was thoughtful and paid attention to detail, ensuring our comfort throughout our stay.

Spacious rooms with kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. Several patio areas and a large enclosed garden with picnic tables. Beautiful location with footpath routes. Dogs and grandchildren enjoyed the large garden. Breakfast was good. Staff courteous and considerate. Other guests not noisy.

I recently stayed at the Rose Cottage Inn for a one-night getaway. The 'Hikers' Rest' cabin was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. The self-catering facilities allowed us to cook our own meals, but the food served in the old pub was outstanding! The location was perfect - close enough to explore Brighton, yet peaceful enough to escape everyday life. Keith and the owners were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home.

The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and they even upgraded us to a lovely small studio without any extra cost. the room was cozy and had a kitchenette, perfect for a longer stay. We also enjoyed the fact that the inn was surrounded by beautiful fields and that the coast was nearby. It was a great location for walking trips.

We had hoped to enjoy a meal and have a few drinks without having to go too far. Although there was a nice pub within walking distance, it would have been more convenient to have those facilities available at the inn itself.

Additionally, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to provide helpful information about the surrounding area. Moreover, the rooms were well-appointed with good lighting, ensuring a comfortable stay. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of choices to suit any taste. I even discovered a charming pub nearby that added to the overall experience.

All in all, my stay was fantastic and I couldn't fault a thing.

The stay at Rose Cottage Inn was comfortable and private with its own entrance. the en-suite room had a lovely luxury bath and a great shower. the views were amazing and there was plenty of space. the room also had a kitchenette equipped with everything needed, from plates and cutlery to wine glasses. the sitting room area was lovely and there was a massive TV. the property provided complete isolation and there was ample space for clothes.

Can't fault the property in any way! 😊👌
