stayed here in appledore before and royal george exceeded expectations! beautiful views, delicious food, and a warm welcome. superb location with parking nearby. friendly staff and accommodating. dogs welcome with great beach walks. lovely, clean, and comfortable rooms with balcony views. outstanding food and wine. a charming village. a relaxing weekend. fresh milk provided in rooms.

The staff went above and beyond, making us feel welcome and ensuring our stay was exceptional. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful North Devon coast, and the food was superb. The location of this hotel was absolutely stunning, right by the water with breathtaking views. the room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, with a great bathroom and a huge bathtub. We also appreciated the fresh milk provided in the bedroom fridge. the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious with a wide variety of choices.

That the blinds in our room allowed too much light to enter, making it difficult to sleep in. the temperature in the bedroom could be quite stifling in hot weather, and we could imagine needing a fan.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. the location on the Quay was stunning, with a nice view of the estuary. Secondly, the staff were friendly and provided great service. Lastly, the rooms with a balcony were clean and spacious, offering a relaxing atmosphere.

The radiators were so efficient that we had to open the windows to cool down, showcasing their top-notch functionality. The staff were extremely friendly and provided professional service, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The breakfast selection was superb, and the real ales offered at the bar were a delightful treat. The views from the restaurant were absolutely stunning, making it a truly memorable dining experience.

That the room we stayed in was quite small, as clearly described in the details. However, the limited space made it a bit cramped for us, especially with our walking and cycling equipment.

My Easter weekend at this hotel was amazing! the breakfasts were the best we've ever tasted, with plenty of options to choose from. the location was perfect, with stunning estuary views from our room, and vibrant places to eat nearby. Plus, the hosts were friendly and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed.

Despite the amazing experience, there were a few downsides. the room temperature was hard to control and we had to leave the window open all night, which made for a restless night's sleep.

The room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the sea and a luxurious bathroom. The menu at the restaurant was excellent, especially the fresh fish specials. The bar/restaurant being right on the water with stunning views was the highlight of our trip. The manager even went out of their way to find us a table when the restaurant was fully booked. The location in this charming small town was perfect.

One drawback was that the bed could have been more comfortable, but that's subjective. Another minor issue was the design of the bathroom sink tap.

Outstanding breakfast and dinner options, including a good bar with cocktails and rum selection. Appledore is a lovely place to explore.

We had a delightful family stay at The Royal George, enjoying the peaceful and relaxing setting by the waterfront. The room was perfect for us, with a double bedroom, sea view balcony, separate bathroom, and another twin room. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for local sights and restaurants. The breakfast and dinner were both outstanding, with generous portions and a superb seafront setting. We loved the quirky layout of the family room, and the hotel's commitment to being plastic-free was impressive.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and fitted, with efficient radiators that made the room too hot to sleep in. However, this was easily solved by opening the velum windows. the breakfast was superb, with a good range of real ales available. the staff was friendly and provided excellent service. I also enjoyed the stunning views from the bar and restaurant.
