The Royal Hotel in Elgin was great value for our money, with a decent sized room and comfortable mattresses. The location was handy, close to the town center and surprisingly quiet. The staff, especially the waitress/manageress, were incredibly lovely and helpful throughout our stay.

The breakfast menu could be improved by offering a wider variety of choices.

The hotel is conveniently located near the town center and has a large car park, which made it easy for me to move around during my business trip. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and modern, with a fantastic shower room. I also appreciated the wide selection of beers and whiskies available at the bar. the hot breakfast buffet with made-to-order dishes was cooked perfectly, providing a satisfying start to the day.

The service during my stay was not up to par. The staff seemed untrained and made basic mistakes like clearing the table before everyone finished eating.

We booked last minute and checked in late, but the key was left conveniently at the reception foyer. We stayed in a double room in the annexe building and found it to be fantastic. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The breakfast spread had a variety of cereals, and we could also order a delicious Full English breakfast. The cooked breakfast was clean and not greasy. Considering the price we paid, it was exceptional value for money. We will likely choose to stay at Royal Hotel again for work trips.
