Stayed at a lovely country inn for our walking holiday. The Royal Oak was the perfect choice - traditional, comfortable, and owned by an exceptional landlady. The pub downstairs had a great atmosphere with friendly regulars and their dogs. The ensuite accommodation was clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. It was a wonderful experience in this beautiful border area.

We recently went on a romantic escape and had a wonderful time. The rooms were cozy, perfect for a couple, and the breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delicious. The location was also great for us, with easy access to nearby shops and attractions.

We did experience some noise from the bar below during our stay, and it would have been nice to have been informed of any events happening in the area ahead of time. though, it was a lovely trip and we would definitely recommend it to others looking for a quiet getaway.

Sue, the landlady, was an outstanding host at Royal Oak. She ran a traditional country pub with excellent ensuite accommodations. The friendly regulars and their dogs added to the pleasant atmosphere. The location in the beautiful border area was perfect for our walking holiday. Breakfast was also excellent, and the staff made us feel welcome.
