Stayed here for three nights during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect, with easy access to local shops and restaurants. I recently stayed at The Shady Oak and had an incredibly pleasant experience. The owner, Leon, was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Despite my late arrival due to train strikes, he went out of his way to pick me up from the station and even offered to drop me off at my meeting the next morning since there were no cabs or trains available. The service he provided was excellent, and I was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The beautiful scenery surrounding the property added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. I highly recommend The Shady Oak for a memorable experience.

The hotel offers great value for money with its spacious rooms and beautiful views over the hills.

The food was excellent with plenty of choices and the portions were generous. The location was convenient with ample parking available. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the room despite being on a main road. It was also great to have footpaths nearby for evening walks.

The decor of the hotel was tired and in need of updating. the meal we had was not up to par - the steak was tough to chew and the chips were soggy.

The location in the picturesque village provided beautiful scenery, and the food, especially the minted lamb dinner, was absolutely delicious.
