I recently had a fantastic stay in the Yorkshire Wolds and stumbled upon this hidden gem of a hotel. The value for money was exceptional, with reasonable prices for both the rooms and the delicious food served in the pub downstairs. The attention to detail was evident throughout, from the spotless and beautifully furnished rooms to the generous portions of breakfast. The location was perfect for a peaceful break, surrounded by picturesque countryside yet still within reach of local attractions like Castle Howard and the Pickering Steam Railway.

The location, situated above a lively pub, added to the overall atmosphere and made for a memorable experience. The rooms, decorated with pleasing decor, were equipped with all the basic amenities one could ask for, including a mirror in the bedroom and a comfortable sofa. I particularly appreciated the full length mirror in the bedroom, as it allowed me to get ready with ease. The breakfast, included in the price, was exceptional, with generous portions that satisfied my appetite.

The ensuite facilities were new and provided a great shower with instant hot water. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included and offered a range of options including cereals, toast, and a full cooked English breakfast. The location of the inn was perfect for exploring the nearby coastal towns and market towns. The bar/restaurant area was beautifully presented and had a welcoming atmosphere.

The tea/coffee machine in the room was not to our liking as we prefer the traditional kettle method.

The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, with modern amenities. The staff is attentive and provides a warm and friendly welcome. The breakfast spread offers a variety of delicious options, including cereals, toast, pastries, and continental meats. the owners go above and beyond to accommodate guests, including sending meals home when unable to attend themed nights.

Breakfast was excellent value with a good selection, including dairy-free options. The hotel allowed dogs at breakfast, providing a nice atmosphere. Our room, suite 1, could comfortably accommodate a family of five. We brought our own travel cot and had a seamless stay as part of our extended trip.

We really got our money's worth at the Star Inn. The room was fantastic, with little extra touches like a Tassimo machine and USB ports next to the bed. The location was perfect, close to many places of interest, and the staff treated us like family.

The Star Inn, located next to a working farm, is in a great location to explore the surrounding attractions. The room we stayed in was splendid, with a very comfortable bed and a large TV with a good channel choice. The bathroom, although functional and clean, needed modernising. The breakfast included in our stay was delicious, with a satisfying range of hot cooked items. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the inn had plenty of parking available.

The bar area was still awaiting upgrades.

Good location for car show and trips to Bridlington and Scarborough. Clean, comfortable rooms, delicious evening meal and breakfast. Adjoining rooms perfect for a good night's sleep.
