I recently stayed at this hotel for a special occasion and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The hotel is set in a lovely rural area, perfect for those who enjoy peaceful country walks. It is also conveniently located near several big local attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that every detail was taken care of during my stay. The rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, with large bathrooms to add to the overall comfort. The highlight for me was definitely the excellent cooked breakfast, which included a range of delicious options and was accompanied by good quality coffee. I found this hotel to be great value for money, providing a pleasant and memorable stay.

The hotel itself had great character and was beautifully done. The rooms were superb, with comfortable beds and attention to detail in decoration. The location in the quiet village was also lovely, offering a peaceful and charming atmosphere for a restful stay.

The room was beautiful, well equipped, and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant served delicious food and had friendly staff. The location was perfect in a beautiful and quiet area. a perfect stay.

Stairs and bathroom steps were a bit challenging.

I had a delightful stay at a charming hotel in a quiet village. The room I stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable four-poster bed. The shower room was fantastic, with a large plinth-type shower. The hotel also provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, such as hot drinks and toiletries.

I did have a minor issue with access to the lounge area, but it didn't overshadow the overall experience. Additionally, it would have been nice to have access to coffee after breakfast hours.

Spending the new year at this hotel was a great experience. the staff were fantastic, friendly, and very welcoming. the location was perfect for us, allowing us to explore the surrounding areas with ease. the food was amazing, we particularly enjoyed the beautifully presented meals and the delicious English breakfast. the rooms were well appointed, beautifully decorated, and clean.

The rooms were small and might not suit those who prefer bigger spaces. the plumbing was quite loud, waking us up in the night when someone else used the toilet or tap.

Outdoor lighting was poor.

The Walnut Tree exceeded our expectations in terms of value for money. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail and the level of service provided. The hotel is conveniently located close to the A303, making it easily accessible, yet it is situated in a peaceful and beautiful setting. We took a lovely walk to the old church and along the river, which added to the overall charm of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the basic amenities in the clean and comfortable rooms were more than sufficient. The breakfast was simple but delicious, with the scrambled eggs seasoned with jerk herbs and spices being a particular highlight.

All was well.
