I travel to Welwyn several times a year and The Wellington is now my absolute favourite hotel in the area. The beautifully refurbished building has 6 unique, quirky bedrooms with modern touches and beautiful antique furniture. The room was spacious with a four poster bed, rolltop bath, and plenty of wardrobe space. The restaurant and bar were perfect, with amazing breakfasts and delicious dinners. The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel like a friend. Thank you, Dan, for an unforgettable stay!

I recently had a delightful stay at a charming hotel in the heart of town, where I used to hang out as a teenager. The location, opposite a church, was absolutely stunning. The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated, with a mix of modern lights and old furniture. The bathroom was well-appointed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The service provided by the friendly staff was top-notch. the breakfast served was yummy and satisfying. it was a wonderful experience staying in this hotel.

I did encounter a slight inconvenience during my stay. The hotel had constant Christmas songs playing throughout the day, which was a bit annoying.

Had a fantastic weekend getaway in a lovely, scenic village. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food quality was exceptional, with delicious dishes that had amazing bursts of flavor. The pork belly was mouthwateringly good, and the fish in tempura batter was perfectly crispy. The hotel room was a surprise treat, complete with a luxurious roll-top bath that made for a wonderfully relaxing and romantic night. The overall experience was fantastic and made for a memorable weekend.

There were a few downsides to our stay. I was disappointed to miss out on breakfast due to my early departure time.

Attended a wedding and woke up to the horrible noise of dustbin carts early in the morning. Made me feel ill. However, room, service, and food were excellent. Staff were fantastic in every way. Despite the noise, I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was decorated nicely for Christmas and the staff were friendly. The location was convenient for exploring the local area and there were some nice walks nearby.

The room was quite small and cramped and the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was not very clean and the towels were old and worn.

Amazing food and stunning building

During our stay at the Wellington, we had the pleasure of experiencing the amazing food they serve. The pork belly that I had for dinner was truly a standout dish. The flavors of the accompanying vegetables and sauce provided a burst of deliciousness in every bite. My partner enjoyed the fish in tempura batter, which was light, crispy, and stayed hot until the last bite. The quality of the food was top-notch, and we were thoroughly impressed.

I had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist me with anything I needed. The rooms were spotlessly clean and each had its own unique style. I particularly loved the cleverly designed bathroom in my room, which included small glass-fronted cupboards and a gorgeous, unusual layout. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the service at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was outstanding. The location of the hotel was perfect for me, as it was right opposite a beautiful church in the center of town, where I used to drink in the pub as a teenager.

The only minor improvement I would suggest is better lighting around the sink area for putting on makeup.

I had a fantastic stay at this cozy pub hotel. The beautiful old room had plenty of original character features. The staff were friendly and looked after me well. The hotel facilities were great, including easy parking for my van. The included cooked breakfast was out of this world, with chunky homemade bread and delicious bacon and sausages. The location opposite a church was in a beautiful area to spend some time in.

I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. From the warm welcome to the great service, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff, especially a young blond guy, went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. They even gave up their parking space for my car and brought me biscuits for my in-room service. The room itself was lovely and had a quirky charm with its beams and open bathroom area. Dinner at this hotel was an absolute delight, and I would definitely return for another fabulous meal. The location of this hotel in the restaurant great, as it was in the stunningly renovated pub that I used to drink in as a teenager. I was highly impressed with the cleanliness, hotel facilities, and the exceptional breakfast provided by the hotel staff.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of value for money. The prices were reasonable and the attention to detail was evident throughout my stay. The location in the centre of town was perfect, with beautiful views overlooking the Christmas tree. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, and the rooms had their own personal touches, such as a big bath next to the bed to relax in. Additionally, the unexpected inclusion of breakfast was a delightful bonus.

The attention to detail was superb, from the coffee/tea/biscuit amenities to the abundance of plug sockets and wardrobe space. I particularly enjoyed the hot water supply, perfect for indulging in a long, relaxing bath while watching TV. The restaurant and bar were equally impressive. The breakfasts were amazing, with the best eggs florentine and eggs royale I've ever tasted. The dinner options were creative and the specials were simply divine. I especially loved the tempura battered cod and chips – a dish that exceeded expectations. The bar offered a wide selection of interesting gins and affordable wines. The staff, led by the friendly manager Dan, went above and beyond to ensure a memorable and enjoyable stay. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I can't wait to return and will definitely be recommending The Wellington to everyone!
