I recently stayed at the Bunkhouse in Threlkeld for a hiking trip and it was perfect for our needs. The location was excellent, allowing us easy access to all the main attractions of the lakes. The staff were friendly and polite with a great sense of humour. The food was superb and we looked forward to the evening meals after a day of exploring nature. The scenery was breathtaking, especially the night sky. a great no-frills stay for hikers, mountain climbers, fell runners, and nature lovers.

There were a few aspects that we didn't particularly enjoy. The bunk beds were quite uncomfortable to get in and out of, which made sleeping a bit challenging.

I really got my money's worth at the White Horse Inn Bunkhouse. The room was clean and spacious, and the comfortable bed gave me a great night's sleep. The location was perfect, with nice views and benches outside to enjoy, even though it was raining. The staff at the attached pub were friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the roast on Sundays and their local ales. I felt safe and would happily stay here again.
