We loved how this place was perfect for hiking and exploring the outdoors. The service was top-notch, with the staff being extremely friendly and providing great service. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed, including ironing facilities, heating, and a flat-screen TV. The hotel also had a lovely garden area where we could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay!

The young inn owners, Chris and Helinka, went above and beyond to assure our comfort and help us get back on the road. They arranged a replacement car and provided exceptional service, even accommodating us for an extra night when they were closed. Their kindness and hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this inn for its warm and accommodating service.

our romantic weekend at the white lion inn in buckden was beyond our expectations. the charming country pub has been beautifully modernized, while still retaining its traditional character. the rooms were cozy and well-equipped, with luxurious touches like chocolates and high-quality toiletries. the staff were warm and welcoming, and the location offered stunning views and easy access to nearby villages. the food, sourced locally, was simply delicious.

We recently spent our Christmas at this hotel and overall, we had a decent experience. The best aspects of our stay were the comfortable and well-appointed rooms, with nice touches such as underfloor heating in the bathroom and a comfortable bed. the location was ideal as it offered easy access to beautiful river scenery and plenty of walks in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed exploring the nearby Buckden Pike and Upper Wharfedale.

There were a couple of things that could have been better. the service was a bit slow, especially when it came to the arrival of our starters.

This quaint little Dales pub is the perfect base for walking in Upper Wharfedale and exploring the wider area. The newly renovated ensuite in our cosy room was a nice touch, and the wifi and TV reception were perfect. The evening meal, once it finally arrived, was good and breakfast was excellent. The staff were pleasant and it’s clear that the owners have invested a lot to ensure comfortable accommodation and a fantastic location for those seeking a pleasant stay.
