Lovely cottage, fantastic hosts, great kitchen facilities, secure parking, friendly and thoughtful hosts, pretty courtyard.

It was all superb.

The cottages provided everything we needed, with comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchens. The private courtyard was a lovely rustic spot to relax and the parking was secure. We also enjoyed the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the location.

There was no WiFi code provided for guests.

The cottages were well-equipped for couples, with TVs in both the living room and bedroom. The friendly pub on-site offered affordable drinks, and nearby dining options were also inexpensive. We were pleased with our choice and would definitely return.

I got great value for my money at this cozy cottage. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen and a comfy bed. The location of the cottage was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning countryside. We loved being able to enjoy the peaceful and picturesque scenery during our stay. the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The on-site pub was a great bonus, with a fantastic selection of beers that we thoroughly enjoyed. the hospitality and atmosphere were top-notch.

Although the road nearby was not very busy, the noise from passing vehicles did disturb our sleep a bit, especially in the early morning. the lack of blackout curtains or blinds in the bedroom made it difficult to get a restful sleep as the room would get quite bright.

I had a fantastic stay at the cottages. The kitchen facilities were excellent, with a proper cooker and plenty of pots and pans. The hosts were incredibly friendly and even brought us some soya milk and crumpets before our arrival. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and the free wifi worked perfectly. The cottage had all the amenities we needed, including a comfortable bed and a great collection of DVDs. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff, especially Derek at the bar, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning when we're in the area again.

The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were always checking in to see if we needed anything. The secure parking was a great convenience. it was nice to have all the comforts of home in the cottage.

The lack of internet was a major inconvenience as we were unable to connect to the wifi despite it showing as available. the mix-up with the taxi service for the wedding was a bit frustrating.

We stayed at Thompsons Arms Cottage for our honeymoon and had an exceptional experience. The staff were polite and friendly, and the cottage was immaculate. The private parking and large electric gate provided privacy. The pub next door was convenient, with affordable drinks. The location was perfect for our trip to Castle Howard, and it was an easy drive to York, Flamingo Land, Harrogate, and Leeds. The option for daily cleaning was a nice touch.

lovely stay at a cozy, clean cottage in Flaxton. Owners were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our time there special. Their taxi service to the nearby wedding venue was a great convenience. Definitely recommend Thompsons Arms!

Unpleasant smell

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The cottages were well presented, clean, and comfortable, with everything we needed for a great stay. The cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start our day. the option to use the host's taxi service was a huge bonus and saved us a lot of money compared to using a regular taxi service. It made getting around in the rural area so much easier!

While the accommodation was generally comfortable, we did find that the road next to the property was a bit noisy at times, especially in the mornings. The curtains or blinds in the bedroom could also do with being blackout to ensure a better night's sleep.

I recently stayed at Thompsons Arms for a weekend wedding at Sandburn Hall. The location was beautiful, and the hosts were excellent, even running a taxi service to and from the hall. The cottage itself was cosy and clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure parking for our bikes. The hosts were friendly and thoughtful, providing extra amenities like soya milk and crumpets. The onsite pub was a great addition, offering delicious beer and a cozy atmosphere. a lovely place to stay with friendly hosts and great facilities.
