our recent stay in heswall was amazing, but thornton manor villa took it to the next level. the beautiful building and grounds were fantastic, and the bed was large and comfy. we loved the hot tub and the little lodge had so much charm.

Drains smelled

The location was absolutely lovely, with picturesque surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and good quality towels. The hotel facilities, including the parking and transportation options, were convenient and well-maintained. Additionally, the breakfast provided was tasty and satisfying. I had a great experience at this hotel.

We had an amazing experience at Thornton Manor. The Grooms Cottage exceeded our expectations, with comfortable rooms and complementary food and drink upon arrival. The location was perfect, with stunning countryside views and easy access to Liverpool and Chester. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back.

The morning meal could be improved with more options or a local hostelry involved for meal delivery.

I recently stayed at Thornton Manor and couldn't be happier with my experience. The staff, especially Carl, were exceptional in their hospitality. They even installed a jacuzzi for us the day after we checked in, which was a pleasant surprise. The views from the Pavillion Cottage were absolutely breathtaking, with a lake and vast green fields surrounding the property. The owners were kind enough to allow us a late check-out on Sunday, which was greatly appreciated. The East Lodge cottage was stunning, filled with character and charm. The hot tub, nestled among trees, offered a private and serene retreat. The main bedroom was incredibly spacious, exceeding our expectations.

Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Beautiful grounds, including a 12-acre lake and 120 acres of land. Apartments in the Gardener's mews with traditional, well-equipped furnishings. Complimentary toiletries, cereals, fruit, tea, coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. A peaceful countryside location close to Liverpool and Chester.

Beautiful furnishings. Historical context. Brilliant heated bed. Nice venue for peace and quiet. Parking available. Very nice attention and customer care before arrival. Exceptional wedding venue. Clean and comfortable self-catering accommodation with modern facilities. Spacious and well-appointed bedrooms. Accommodating staff. Wonderful hot tub in small courtyard. Independent access and access to extensive grounds with tour of main house. Quite wonderful for a wedding venue.

The rooms were comfortable and provided enough space for relaxation. the staff members were welcoming and helpful throughout my trip. the key location of the hotel made it convenient for me to explore the surrounding area and visit nearby attractions.

There were a few aspects that I didn't enjoy. there were some issues with the amenities in the rooms.

Stayed 1 night in the Comfort shower room, had all you needed for the night. Staff very helpful on arrival. We had a wonderful time looking around the grounds which we did not expect. A great Shame about the Manor House fire.

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and I was impressed with the facilities provided. The location was ideal, with easy access to transportation and parking options. Additionally, the breakfast provided was delicious and the staff ensured that all my needs were met.

I had an initial difficulty finding an entrance, but luckily I discovered that the staff gate was open. It was a bit stressful thinking I might be locked out, but everything turned out fine. The spacious accommodation and beautiful views were definitely a highlight. The provided towels were generous and effective, and the heating was promptly taken care of by Carl. The location and staff were great.

The main gate being locked at night was unexpected and caused a bit of stress initially. The lighting in the main room and bedroom could be improved, and additional bedside furniture would be helpful.

The location of the hotel was perfect for a Christmas getaway, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The food at the hotel was exceptional, with a variety of delicious options that catered to all dietary preferences.

The central heating in the hotel seemed to be limited, making some areas a bit chilly during the winter months. The mattress in our room was not comfortable, as it had noticeable dips and creaky springs.

Great location near the water and beautiful grounds for photos. the staff were friendly and helpful, especially during the wedding ceremony. They went out of their way to accommodate my elderly mother-in-law and ensure she had a comfortable experience. the cottages on site were cozy and well-stocked with essentials.

The size of the property was a bit overwhelming, especially when trying to navigate by car. the lack of facilities for disabled people in certain buildings was a disappointment.

The beds were comfy, the venue was lovely, and the staff were friendly. Parking was accessible and breakfast was thoughtful. The grounds were beautiful and great for dog walking. There was a good variety of properties to choose from.

The owners even provided dog shampoo and a hose for my furry companion. a delightful stay with excellent service and beautiful surroundings.

It's a shame that the furnishings in the manor were not up to par, as I believe a period property should be furnished to match its era.
