We recently stayed at a fantastic cosy cottage in Ambleside. The cottage was clean, well decorated, and well maintained. The location was amazing, with a short walk into Ambleside and close proximity to several good hiking trails. One trail even led us to Windermere Village, which was a lovely experience. We also discovered the nearby Brockhole, where we could flag down river cruises to take us to Ambleside or Bowness, making for relaxing and affordable journeys. The owner of the cottage was incredibly approachable and helpful, going above and beyond by mailing us a forgotten item without expecting payment. we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway.

There weren't many food options available in the neighborhood after 9 pm, but we were able to order pizza for delivery from Ambleside, which was a convenient alternative. Additionally, the shared heating system with the neighbor cottage occasionally led to temperature disagreements.

Fantastic cosy cottage, clean, well decorated, well maintained. Amazing location, short walk to Ambleside, close to hiking trails. River cruises from nearby pier. Approachable owner, excellent service. Forgotten item mailed without charge.
