Peaceful countryside retreat with friendly and accommodating host

I enjoyed the peaceful location of the lodge up a country lane, close to Basingstoke. the extensive self-catering kitchen facilities and large shared bathroom were great amenities. the host was not only welcoming but also went above and beyond to assist when I misplaced my bank card. One improvement could be addressing the occasional presence of ladybirds in the room.

Omg, the warmth of the room was everything! so cozy 😍 friendly staff & a peaceful garden setting. Just the trains near were a tad noisy. a lovely rural escape 💕.

From the very friendly welcome to the peaceful location, West View Lodge in Basingstoke provided a tranquil retreat close to landmarks like St Mary's Church and Odiham Castle. the relaxation areas like the garden and leisure room added to our family bonding. the self-catering kitchen and shared bathroom were convenient, and Debbie's exceptional service made our stay truly enjoyable.

The single room with a kitchenette felt cozy, perfect for independent travelers like me. the flat-screen TV was a nice touch for winding down after a day of exploring.

The noise from passing trains could be bothersome to some guests.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful, and really had all the facilities I needed. the outdoor dining area was a basic, help-yourself offer but perfectly adequate. the laundry was supplied, which I wasn't expecting. They have a conservatory with a view of the garden and wandering ducks, giving a relaxing vibe. the location was good - close to the M3 and Basingstoke, but with a very rural feel. I will rebook in the future.

One thing that could be improved is the noise from the nearby railway line and the high voltage power lines running over the property. Installment of blackout curtains in the rooms could enhance the guests' experience, especially during the early sunrises in the summer.

Had a cozy Xmas at this lodge. Loved the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The single bed was super comfortable and made for a great night's sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they gave us our privacy unless we needed assistance. The free parking was a huge plus, making it easy for us to explore the area.

There were a few negatives. the constant noise from passing trains was quite annoying and disrupted the peace and quiet we were seeking.

We had a fantastic stay at the charming West View Lodge. the wooden chalet was surprisingly spacious inside and had all the amenities we needed including milk, coffee, and tea. the lounge was a decent size and the separate bedroom provided a comfortable night's sleep. Debbie and Steve, the owners, were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. When the road was closed for repairs, Debbie even drove me into the city. They also accommodated our request to move to a quieter area of the property. We were thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend West View Lodge to others.

The kids loved the exciting activities and the spacious play areas. the friendly staff made us feel right at home, and the cozy rooms were perfect for our large family. We all had a wonderful time together!

My wife says that more kid-friendly meal options would be great.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. the location was ideal as a stop-over, being close to both the M3 and Basingstoke. Despite this, it had a very rural feel, situated in the owner's garden with access to woodland. Secondly, the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find that breakfast was included in the stay, with a lovely conservatory offering a view of the garden and wandering ducks. this hotel provided excellent value for money and attention to detail.

The hotel is located near a train line, which makes it easy to move around the city. The rooms are equipped with all the necessary facilities and of good quality. Additionally, the staff is really friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is quite noisy due to the location. It's very difficult to ignore the sound of trains passing by all day and night. I found it hard to sleep through the noise, which was quite frustrating. Also, the restaurant facilities were quite limited. The menu didn't offer a lot of variety, and some dishes were not available.

Easy access to the show, great value for money, and a beautiful house. the hosts were friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. the house was clean and there was ample parking. the hosts even stocked the fridge. the location was secluded but there was a nice pub within walking distance. the bed was comfortable and the en-suite shower was hot with good water pressure. Free WiFi was provided with a decent signal.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. It was situated in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the town. It was also well-connected with hourly buses and taxis easily available for transportation.

The hotel is a bit remote and may be difficult to find for some due to road closures. However, with the help of the staff, navigation was not a major issue.
