My children craved more outdoor play areas for an enhanced family experience.

the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. the property itself is charming with its mix of modern facilities and historic features. the room was so clean and had a lovely homely feel to it. the breakfast was outstanding - freshly cooked for us with nice toast from fresh home-cut bread and excellent coffee served at a large country kitchen table. the location was stunning, close to our destination, and right on the route I was walking.

One thing that could be improved is the noise from the heating system at night. It can be a bit loud for the first 10 minutes, but after that, it's all good.

we had such a lovely stay at Cottage Guest House. the hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly. the room felt homely and clean with nice extra touches like chocolates. breakfast was a wow experience, freshly cooked with a menu selection. the property itself is charming, over 200 years old with a mix of modern facilities. situated by a bridleway, it's a perfect retreat for nature lovers. we'll definitely be back, maybe even for the Straw Bear next year.

The room was clean and welcoming, with a comfy bed and a spacious, hot shower. The innkeepers, Su and Tony, were incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. They even lent us guide books and maps for our hike in the Peak District. The full English breakfast included was delicious, and there were plenty of amenities nearby, like a well-stocked shop and tearoom. a fantastic stay!

The Wi-Fi does not work in the bedrooms.

The location of the hotel was great, near to a lot of good restaurants and shops. the rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. Another good fact is that the hotel served breakfast, which was a great start for the day. the hotel staff were kind and always ready to help us whenever we needed.

The hotel was not up to our expectations. the bathroom was quite small and not so clean, which made our stay uncomfortable.

Wortley Cottage Guest House was a fantastic find. the attention to detail was evident throughout our stay. From the fresh clean towels and complimentary toiletries in the immaculate shower room to the comfortable bed with cozy patchwork throws, everything was thoughtfully arranged for our comfort. Furthermore, the location was excellent, with a quaint village atmosphere and plenty of beautiful sights to explore nearby. Additionally, the friendly and knowledgeable owners were always ready to provide helpful advice and recommendations for walks and local attractions, making our stay truly enjoyable.

Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

I recently stayed at the charming Wortley Cottage Guest House for one night. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing advice and even lending me a map for my walk in the Peak District. The breakfast was superb, with a wide selection and cooked to perfection. The comfortable bed ensured a great night's sleep and the added convenience of access through the adjacent shop was a thoughtful touch. I would definitely return to this delightful guest house.
