had a fantastic short break in Pentrefoelas. Y Giler Arms surpassed my expectations with friendly staff, excellent home cooked food, and comfortable rooms. The view of the lake with herons was a delightful bonus. Perfect location for exploring North Wales.

The breakfast was awesome. Owners were welcoming. Lovely surroundings with a lake. The dining room had great food. The bedroom was comfortable. Staff were helpful. Parking was free.

Nothing that I didn't like.

Great food and beautiful surroundings. During my weekend stay, I thoroughly enjoyed the food at the Hotel restaurant and the views around the hotel were absolutely stunning. the location was very convenient as it was close to popular tourist attractions.

Poor and noisy accommodation. the room was noisy due to constant banging sounds from the safety door and as a result, I had trouble sleeping.

We had a great time at this lovely pub in a perfect location for exploring Snowdonia. the staff were fantastic and provided better service than some 5-star hotels. They were extremely helpful and accommodating, even making sure I had something to eat when I arrived late. the rooms were recently renovated to a high standard and were very clean. We enjoyed the simple but delicious pub food, especially the locally sourced options. the breakfast was also good, and the bar had a nice atmosphere with a selection of local ales. the views from our single rooms were stunning. great value and a friendly place to stay.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was centrally located, making it easy to access all the activities we had planned. the hotel was situated in a quiet area, providing a peaceful environment for a good night's sleep. The staff at the hotel were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The recently refurbished property was beautifully clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious food at the hotel's restaurant, with the steak being a particular highlight.

That the pub didn't open until 6pm each evening, which would have been better if it opened earlier, around 3pm.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The recently refurbished room was clean, bright, and well equipped with all the essentials. The staff in the dining room were incredibly friendly and enjoyable to chat with. The restaurant offered a good menu, and though there was no wine list, they had a reasonable selection of wines by the glass. The location of the hotel was very quiet and peaceful, providing the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Additionally, being close to the A5 made it convenient for exploring the nearby Snowdonia, just a short 15-minute drive away.

Friendly Staff and Delicious Food

I stayed at a charming pub located in a quiet and beautiful area in October. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Despite it being a quiet time of year, the pub had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the food. The meals were not only reasonably priced but also incredibly tasty. I couldn't resist trying different dishes each night, and they never disappointed. The pub also had lovely grounds, which I hope to explore more when I return in better weather. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this establishment to others.

We just returned from a 5-night stay at this lovely pub with rooms. As a family of four, we had two rooms that were spacious and well-equipped. Due to current restrictions, housekeeping was not available, but the staff was happy to provide us with extra tea/coffee and biscuits, as well as fresh towels when requested. the food at the pub was delicious and catered to our fussy eaters. the breakfast had a wide variety of options to choose from. the location was perfect for us, with easy access to Zip Worlds and other attractions. the view from our room was stunning, overlooking a peaceful pond. we highly recommend staying at this charming place!
