I had a delightful stay at a charming country inn near Newbury. The room had a unique boutique style with exposed beams, which added a special touch. Despite the initial chill, the radiators warmed up the room nicely. The food in the bar was delicious and the local ale selection was impressive. I especially enjoyed the celebration of poor reviews in the gents' restroom, which added a quirky and amusing touch to the place. The location was perfect for a peaceful getaway, with easy access to major routes like the M4 and A34. The cooked-to-order breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the ample parking was a bonus.

There were a few minor disappointments during my stay. The breakfast coffee wasn't up to par and the bed was quite firm, making it a little uncomfortable for side sleepers like me and my wife.

During our New Year stay at this hotel, we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The food was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the option to try the daily specials. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area with plenty of nearby attractions to visit.

The Wi-Fi connection was slow and unreliable, and there was no gym or fitness center available.

Had a blast with a cozy fireplace and enjoyed a picnic area. Satisfied my craving at Ye Olde Red Lion with delicious meals. Free parking was a plus!

This hotel offers great value for money with reasonable prices and attention to detail. The location is perfect, being situated next to a local brewery where guests can enjoy delicious brews in the evening. The staff provide excellent service, and the basic amenities are well-maintained. The rooms are clean and cozy, with an excellent shower and a breakfast inclusive option.

Located in a quiet area just off the M4, this charming pub offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are well set up, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep without disturbing other guests. The provided bathroom amenities and kettle for tea and coffee are a nice touch. the pub is conveniently located next to a picturesque village and is a short drive to Highclere Castle, perfect for exploring the area.

One aspect that could be improved is the lack of menus at the tables. Having to walk back to the bar area to view the blackboards can be inconvenient, especially for guests seated in the restaurant area.

Lovely quaint property, ample parking, fun pub with great food at dinner, large and adorable room, good fresh cooked breakfast, friendly and charming landlord.

The facilities at this charming property were superb for business travelers. The accommodation was spacious, tidy, and had a quiet atmosphere. The shower was hot and came with plenty of towels, which was very convenient. The location was perfect for easy access to the showground, and there was plenty of parking available. The room had a beautiful and characterful design that added to the overall experience. The breakfast provided was excellent and set us up well for our long drive home.

We felt great about our stay at Ye Olde Red Lion and had no reason to complain. The experience was wonderful overall.

Ye Olde Red Lion in Newbury was a fantastic find for the retro festival. Perfect location, great value for money, and the room and breakfast were excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making our stay even better. Can't wait to come back next year!
