We had a wonderful Christmas stay at this cozy mountain retreat. the location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking views. We were delighted to find a hidden lake at the top of a small hill behind the accommodation - a magical surprise! the self-catering kitchen was huge, modern and well-equipped, making it easy for us to prepare our festive feast. the staff were friendly and helpful, even accommodating our late arrival and upgrading our room without us asking. the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, with guests from different backgrounds and ages mingling and enjoying themselves.

That the noise from groups of friends drinking and socializing after 10.30pm made it difficult to sleep. While the hostel had designated quiet hours, it would have been better if the noise could have been better controlled to ensure a restful night's sleep.

yha idwal cottage in bethesda was even better than expected! the staff, especially damien, were super friendly and helpful. they gave great hiking recommendations and even loaned me a map. the location was perfect, with amazing mountain views and easy access to hiking routes. the rooms and facilities were comfortable and well-equipped.
