We had a great stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station and situated right by a beautiful river. The cafe was a highlight, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. We loved the local paintings on display as part of the summer Art Trail. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were even offered a refreshing welcome drink upon arrival. The room amenities were excellent, with heating to keep us cozy and comfortable. The shared kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained. we felt relaxed and at home during our stay.

The noise from the busy road nearby can be quite disruptive, especially in the dorm rooms and communal areas. The Wi-Fi is not accessible in the dorm rooms, which can be inconvenient.

We especially appreciated the locked bike storage room and the bike repair station, as we cycled to the hostel. the self-catered kitchen was very convenient, and we found the drying room and washing machine to be useful. the location was quiet and peaceful, and being just a short walk from the train station was a major plus. We also liked that there was free parking available. it was a good choice for a short stay.

It is disappointing that the hotel's food service is not available in the evening past 7 pm. This lack of dinner options on-site forces guests to venture out into the darkness to find a place that can serve them food.

I recently stayed at Yha South Downs for a weekend getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The large tent was a unique and comfortable accommodation option, with cozy beds and clean facilities. The breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect for scenic walks on the South Downs. I especially enjoyed being able to make a campfire and swim in the nearby River Ouse. The value for money was exceptional, and I even used the YHA meeting room for a team meeting. Highly recommend!

Lovely hostel with clean rooms and excellent meals. The South Downs location is beautiful, but unfortunately, the nearby A26 trunk road can be quite noisy. However, the hostel provides free ear plugs to help with this issue. Despite the noise, the hostel is still a charming converted farm building and the staff are very helpful. I would recommend this hostel for a peaceful and convenient stay on your travels.

Conveniently located near the train station, the YHA South Downs is a great choice for those arriving by rail. With comfortable dorms, hot showers, and a cafe and bar on site, the hostel provides all the necessary amenities. Guests have praised the friendly staff and the imaginative development of the site, including the cozy old farmhouse building. Staying in the camping pod allows for a unique experience, with the chance to gaze at the stars and wake up to the sounds of birdsong.

Some guests have mentioned bugs in the bedding, which is a minor issue that should be addressed.

Additionally, it is conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to explore the surrounding areas. The staff here were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a pleasant stay. They even let me leave my bags in a secure storage room after I checked out, so I could do some last-minute exploring before heading home. The service was top-notch and they made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
